IB have a BIG problem - ignore ODD lots for quote a stock (and impose price caps)

when i was working at a brokerage. We had to institute price caps to insure that the executions were in line with the market. Fat fingered trades and bids well higher than the ask were flagged. I'd have to see their risk logic to know what the issue is. but I'm not buying Berkshire anytime soon.

IB have a BIG problem - ignore ODD lots for quote a stock (and impose price caps)

Most trading platforms will have the last trade be a board lot. IB is the same. Keep this in mind for stop orders placed as odd lots won't trigger it.

Canadian available brokers - Fastest first 15 min fills

Your executions will be worse at Questrade. I worked there for many years and you won't get any improvement over NBBO hardly ever. My fills and commissions were better at IB than my old Questrade employee commission plan. Though if you're trading penny stocks on the OTC and CSE exchanges then...

Canadian available brokers - Fastest first 15 min fills

Questrade is terrible for fills. Order flow is sold to APEX and Citadel who trade against your orders. IB Canada is way better.

IB Margin requirements rising as VIX falls, reaching nonsense levels

I don't know where you work. But the salaries seem in line with what alot of Capital Markets risk positions pay. It's not as pay for performance as Sales or Investment Banking. How much you pay your programmers?

Broker says he has power of attorney to buy futures for 14 accounts

Not much prevented me. . . but one of the top guys I saw his account history go from 8 million down to 2 million and up to 40 million. I didn't want to go along for a downward ride and wanted to do my own trading. I saw the trades but didn't understand the rationale behind them. Later on, he...

Broker says he has power of attorney to buy futures for 14 accounts

He’s correct. I could see 200k accounts before and I could still trade in the same products as long as I didn’t frontrun them. My orders were marked PRO giving retail traders an advantage though.

IB Margin requirements rising as VIX falls, reaching nonsense levels

I dunno man. A risk department of quants that many have graduated from MIT that make over 200k year on average doesn’t sound like a company skipping out on wages.

I've worked at 3 different brokers and each of them hiked margin requirements with no warning. That's how the industry is bro. I don't see much alternative just keep in mind when VIX goes crazy, margin requirements will be hiked up.
