Interesting video with talking heads talking about day trading. Without looking at their titles can you tell the traders from the non-traders? :D http://www.cnbc.com/id/15840232?video=170622239

I think this is a good time for me to take my 1.5 handles and go drink a margarita.

My simple, yet profitable trading strategy

If I understand correctly from an earlier post, he is actually taking the top % gainers as of 9:40 (due to Yahoo delay) and entering positions at 10:00am.

I got caught going long on the first touch of 1438.75, got out when it went back to the middle of the zone. I then rode the next breakout a bit to put me barely past breakeven for the day then decided to pack it in and wait for tomorrow. Got to keep on your toes and take the opportunities when...

Not a great morning for this system, at least the way I did it. Got myself back to even though (doing this on paper for now just for fun). Do you take a position the moment it breaks out of the channel or do you wait for a close outside of the channel if you don't mind me asking?

    Da Bears!

2007 Colts Playoffs Larry Johnson 32 yards Jamaal Lewis 53 yards Cory Dillon 48 yards I'd say they are stopping the run way better than they did in the regular season (the swiss cheese run defense I called it). Peyton Manning 2 TD and 7 INT. That is the killer stat. If he didn't suck so...

I found the same thing. I use 2 different brokers and I think I figured it out. I think one broker uses the official market clock on their charts, the other seems to be using the clock on my computer to generate the time on my charts. The two clocks are a little different and that makes the...

    Simple Profitable Method

We have gone from 1 price chart with a MACD indicator below it, somebody is now using 4 or more indicators under the price chart and others are adding ema/sma's of different configurations. It looks like now the end result is a price chart with no MACD, just a stoch indicator. That means you...

I got the times matched up ok, I was just concerned about 3 different open prices on the ticks. With you simple method, how far away from your entry do you place your stop?

Ok, this is a little concerning. I checked the charts on the 2 different brokers I have and they each have different 9:30ET open prices and different 9:35ET open prices on the 5min bars. They are also different than what you show. Hmmmmmmm

    SPX Credit Spread Trader

Do you mean you will exit your call spreads if/when you enter a put spread? Or do you mean you won't enter both a call spread and put spread at the same time (I think you said earlier that you put on both positions during expiration week)?

Any good book on trading spreads?

I thought this was a pretty good book: The Complete Guide to Option Selling by James Cordier, Michael Gross

I did a quick Google search on spread betting in the UK. Doesn't look like we have any equivalents here in the US. I get the impression that some people look down on spread bettors. What is the catch?

Didn't you have an article in a magazine recently? Seems like I saw your name but can't think of what magazine that was.

I think you may have misunderstood, I agree with your method and it should work out well over time. I also agree that you should start with a small number of contracts and add after a loss. I'm interested in watching you continue to see how this method performs. My comments were to no one in...

I totally agree. I keep getting the words "the market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent" dancing in my head though. :D

Romik has said he is trading with a spread betting firm (UK based I assume?). I looked at trying to do this trading the actual futures which changes things a bit. I casually looked at the ES over the last 10 days or so using 10min bars and 200sma crosses. If I'm following this right, I found...
