Road to being a Market Maker on Nasdaq

Several years as a low paid order entry clerk while being abused "taught the markets" by a NASDAQ trader. Most either quit or wash out but if you are intelligent and motivated it can be a great career.

Are their any fully-backed trading firms?

If I were interviewing you I would ask this question "you have very little, if any, money management experience why on earth did you start your own hedge fund. Did you actually believe you could attract investors?" Your MBA is not the big deal you think it is.

Are their any fully-backed trading firms?

To be honest according to your Resume you have only been looking for two months. That is nothing..........relax........it may take more than a year. Best Wishes.

Are their any fully-backed trading firms?

I kind of agree with you bluestreek, it is a misconception to believe all or even most hiring managers hire the best candidate for their employers needs. Most hire the candidate who is best for their selfish personal ambitions and are not interested in adding any amount of competition. This is...

    Tradingcomputers.com

Dell is what I have now, but to be honest they are a pain in the a__ to deal with. Most of their systems are now package deals that can't be split-up, so you wind up paying for a monitor you don't need or want. The higher end Dells are not cheap, and the service is second rate. Just my opinion.

    Tradingcomputers.com

If you price them out compared to Dell, they seem to be a little more expensive, but not much. I am wondering if the added advantages are worth the slight premium. Better service, better configuration, higher quality components etc....

This would not be a prop firm, but is it a good idea?

I have to agree with Don, why would I go to a Traders Cafe. For less than $2000 I can set up a system at home that will blow your stuff away. You would have to upgrade your workstations every six months, it would cost a fortune just to keep up.

Why most self funded Prop traders fail

For so many reasons this is the dumbest post I have ever read.

stockbroker trainee vs. prop trader trainee

You think those are tough, try an ex-college Finance Professor. I thought I was going to kill him.

stockbroker trainee vs. prop trader trainee

I have worked as a sell side position trader, a buy side fixed income manager, a sell side institutional salesman, and now a prop trader. I would choose prop trading over the rest hands down. The problem with the brokerage industry is the unchecked egos of your coworkers. Man do I have some...

ET guys are above average, so lets do a 9/11 poll

Sorry ratty, but that is what actually happened.

Al-Qaida warns Muslims: Time to get out of U.S.

Oh do you mean the high moral ground displayed by Powell when he demanded his son be made chairman of the FCC even though he had no experience what so ever. Hate to tell you Powell was a disaster as a General and a sleazy politician as well.

ET guys are above average, so lets do a 9/11 poll

Who is the slow one ? Isn't it obvious the puts were traced by feds thus rendering a CBOE investigation unnecessary. They were traced back to a bunch of wealthy Saudi's.

ET guys are above average, so lets do a 9/11 poll

Do you actually believe only a Democrat would speak out. I think it is safe to say no one would be falling in line with party politics.

ET guys are above average, so lets do a 9/11 poll

Hey genius maybe because the Pentagon is basically constructed like a bunker with thick walls to absorb an attack. Here is an experiment for you to try, go out side and throw a brick at your car window, now grab a second one and throw it at the side of your house, which one left a larger hole.

ET guys are above average, so lets do a 9/11 poll

Now just sit back and think about how stupid your convoluted 9/11 theories actually sound. An intern gives the President a hummer in the most secure private office in the world and they wind up making a series of TV movies about it, do you actually believe anyone would possibly even attempt to...

    Does the CFA Open Doors?

Hate to tell you guys but according to AIMR's new requirements you must have at least fours years of experience, where you spend at least 50% of your time directly involved in the investment decision making process. If you can explain how you can do that while working in a different industry I...
