Horrible experience:IB cost me $50,000 this morning

That makes zero sense. ZERO. Love to see you block trade with Scottrade. You might want to look into prime brokerage or retail outfits that offer quasi-prime brokerage services. Wait a minute. You're only kidding around. My bad. I tell ya, sarcasm is harder to spot on the internet.

    Spitzer's Hooker

Most girls are whores. If she's not a virgin and had more than one sexual partner, guess what? She's a whore. At least Ashley got paid for it.

Horrible experience:IB cost me $50,000 this morning

Not sure how having instant rep access could have helped if one didn't read that the max messages per second is 50 via API. Here looks like a situation where the OP was trying to send 300 messages simultaneously through the API. The thing about IB is, you have to read all their literature...

Were any of those stocks affected by new margin rules for individual stocks that went into effect on Monday?

IB eliminates margining on many stocks!

BTW, the current suspension of margin in certain stocks is dependent on the each stock's volatility. As the volatility decreases below a certain threshold, the suspension will be lifted. IB has done the same thing with futures. When the VIX peaks over 36, they suspend 50% day trade margin...

IB eliminates margining on many stocks!

Gambling in trading is simply not having any verifiable plan. Using leverage to increase profitability while using proper money management techniques for a given risk profile is called prudence. Only a FOOL would make the generalization that trading using leverage is gambling as one can...

    Troll: Wael012000

They each on occasion make fair points. But they don't handle being wrong, corrected, or shown where they erred very well. The only other problem is that they think that their post count is a measure of prominence, value, or credibility. Mostly it means they have significantly more free time...

Daytrade Futures: bracket "walk away" orders or "trade live"or "both"?

If you're using exchange native orders, it's always good policy to use brackets. If your connection to your broker goes down you'll have somewhat of a peace of mind knowing that the order is on the exchange server with a predefined risk.

the why behind the illinois college shooting

Ok. One last time for posterity's sake. The Hitler argument is a strawman argument given that we already have registration of firearms. It comes in the form of concealed carry permit/license, federal tax stamp and registration of machine guns and auto sears, and in some states general...

the why behind the illinois college shooting

I hate having to deal with internet trolls. Show me exactly how I'm a constitution hater and alleged gun grabber. Cite specifically where I state such a contrary thing (considering that I am a firearm owner) to support your asinine assumption?

the why behind the illinois college shooting

This coming from a conspriracy theorist? Rich. In any event, I addressed your question. Let me show you how. You bring up a tangeant to what I was discussing. Namely nonsense about creating new laws as if that's what I'm advocating. Then you bring up Hitler and a confiscation of...

the why behind the illinois college shooting

It's not bizzare. It's apropos. Firearm owners tend to know the laws and don't spout off tangential or overused cliches concerning firearm laws. Most firearm owners first become familiar with the laws when they purchase their first registerable firearm. The questions on the permit application...

Question for those trading for a living

Several years of tax returns does the trick in almost all cases. Sometimes be prepared to make higher down payments. Having a credit score over 725 with at least 1 loan on your history is a definite plus.

the why behind the illinois college shooting

That's mostly untrue. re; most gun control laws are rarely prosecuted. Violations are rarely reported or uncovered. Once they are, there aren't many turning a blind eye. In any event, the law in practically all states is that if you are found to be mentally unfit for firearm possession, you...
