    About EBS

EBS is the largest liquidity platform out there used by traders in over 40 countries. Liquidity is around 150B a day. It is hands down the one that banks use. http://www.icap.com/markets/foreign-exchange/icap-fx-spot.html As to why anyone would want to use institutional, I want to trade...

    About EBS

Keep in mind tho that while HotSpotFXi is a great platform, you can't open an account directly with them for less than a few mil. There are other players that will offer the platform w/o the large cap contribution. Also, if you are going on to the institutional platforms, your buying...

    About EBS

Second that. Also with vCap, you have the ability to trade different platforms simultaneously, i.e. open a trade on EBS, close it on, say, FxAll.

TT - End of transactional billing w/ GFETC?

I thought use of TT was licensed by the broker your trade with (Global), not who they clear with (Penson). As a clearing firm, they shouldn't care which platform you use as long as it interfaces with their systems. It's the broker who licenses it and "sells" it to the trader. Am I wrong on this...

Can traders hurt a brokerage by making $?

If you were doing that type of business as you ponder in your post, then odds are you would be trading as a member thru a clearing account rather than a retail. MOST retail are not designed to do large volumes of trades. They have a specific business model an attempt to deviate from it will...

Greenwich is an expensive place to live..

Having read thru this thread, I want to say to the OP to just live a bit. Christ, you're 21, just out of college. Enjoy it for a while. If you intend on staying in this industry for 20+ years or so, the money will be there. Have some fun. Then you will be better focused at your job and become...

There are numerous guys from NY posting in various cities on CL looking for traders. They're just trying to solicit business. Epiphany does it (just saw their ad yesterday in Atlanta section) Avatar (in about a dozen markets) and of course, the ubiquitous VCM/HLV, altho they don't actualy say...

    NYSE Opening bell Friday 7/21

Was that DicK Grasso up on the bell platform this morning ringing the bell? I just saw a little bald guy who looks a lot like him, and I would be surprised if it actually was. Did anyone else notice it?

    IB banking and funds calls

You only need to do this once and you get jammed. Originally I was told that if you change your wire instructions more than once a month, you get flagged, but now if you make ANY changes to your account (add Mr to your name as an outrageous example) you get flagged and have to confirm thru their...

Bush pardons Libby, panders to the hard right...

He wants the appeals process to run its course before he issues the pardon, but he doesn't want one of his boys to sit in jail while he awaits the outcome. I can see why he did it.
