uhm... benefit is you get more leverage... you effectively amplify your gains. Downside is you also amplify your losses and you have to pay interest on the barrowed margin

I don't own any shares but I wanted to personally thank the shareholders of apple... the earnings report was so good that it even ran my RIMM up a few points... haha

I know :( I sold my 300 shares around 14.80 because I was overleveraged and the market has been tipsy lately... garmin is a real winner though I would like to find another entry point and let it run again.

I would hold bro... I think their earnings are gonna be good. The shorts were out for blood and are getting stomped today... look at Garmin's chart... the thing jumped up 5 points on no news.

Shorts are screwed either way... Scenario 1: Markets go down more, fed realizes the situation is worse than they thought and cuts rates to stabilize market... shorts get stomped. Scenario 2: Market goes up, shorts get stomped.

I don't think anyone in their right mind would short through the 31st of this month... the shorts got stomped so many times before by the fed...

Then definitely don't buy... being annoyed because you missed out on profits is a horrible reason to start a position.

Auto workers make too much money. A lot of the GM employees were making $60 an hour with benefits calculated in. A lot of them are doing simple factory work... That can't work in the long run... they can either take a pay cut or lose their jobs.

I'd pay $110 for RIMM... it went to 107 quite a few times last week. Of course there's a chance I won't pull the trigger and miss out but I can live with that.
