Actually, I think this one is pretty clear...you fade 10 points off a reaction high or low, period. Jagmont is using a 3:1 r/r. I'm using 2/1. No trade management.

Ok. It just struck me though that, in my enthusiasm for this thread, I was stomping all over your journal. My apologies! With your permission then, I'll continue....

On the other hand... when is a reaction swing a reaction swing? We might have this right here, at 1276.75. so do we close?

    Rule of 10 Journal

I was thinking of that...for now, though, I'd like to propose minimizing "x-factors" like trade management. Keep the variables down to a minimum so we can see how the core concept delivers over time. If it is valid, a 2:1 reward/risk should make it profitable. Once that has been established...

    I dunno...I just "saved" myself a tick... short at 81.25....stop at 84.25

I have 1271.25 for the low....wouldn't that mean 1281.25 for the short?

Obviously, this one didn't work, either. Will someone tell me why this wasn't a "correct" r10 trade?

    Rule of 10 Journal

Also, seems like we should keep a running tally of handles-per-contract, no? So there's been one completed trade so far for 10 handles, is that correct?

    Rule of 10 Journal

I couldn't disagree more. I think this has the potential to be one of the great journals, and I say that as one who thinks r10 is a sack of b.s. If I turn out to be wrong, I'll be the first to admit it. So, I'll bite... We're at a reaction low right now, correct? Ok, then... Long...

What Do You Want In A Trading Room

I can't get away from the conviction that, if a trader were really, really good, s/he wouldn't bother with a chat room. I mean, George Soros never ran a chat room, did he? Oh, and while we're at it, does anyone know what alias Soros uses here on E.T.?

i'm finding the confluence of friday's value area low with the 38.2 retrace of July's range to be of interest...Both are at 1256.50. We've tested it once this morning. Now we're testing it again. On the other hand, there's a fair amoung of congestion as we move up to 1260, so I suppose this...
