    Can you short a bond?

I apologize for the newbie question because I have never traded a bond in my life. I know that bond prices rise when interest rates fall. If you bought a bond 3 yrs ago, you would have a good unrealized capital gain today. My question is, can you do this in reverse? Is it possible to...

    Some books I am considering.

For the books on technical indicators or methods on how that particular author trades, don't take it to heart. Buzzy's Pit Bull is entertaining, but trying to find arb opportunities like those isn't realistic. The most valuble thing you can draw from books is the psychology of the traders...

    Flip a coin for entry

Trending or non trending markets is a function of the time frame that you are trading. What looks like chop on the 5 minute bars may be part of a trend on the daily. I agree that good money is made with small gainers during times of chop. I did pair trading for a while and it worked well...

    Forex VS. Globex

I was under the impression that on Globex, you will be paying the bid/ask spread just like any financial instrument. Then on top of that, you are paying commissions. So what's the bid/ask spread on Globex measured in pips?

    trader's step for winning

thanks for posting that. From my personal experience, I can't say I went through the first 14 steps at the start of my trading career 6 years ago. I was trading the dot com mania and make 8x my initial capital between 1997 and 2000. Everything came easy and everyone was making a killing...

    Which would you rather trade

Not quite sure if that's what I mean. If you are to pick the next trade you do and size up 10x, then trading the system with a 66% chance of winning 1:1 is better than only having a 33% chance of winning 3:1.

    Which would you rather trade

I voted 33% but I wanted to add that if you are going to vary your size on any one trade, then the 66% win ratio gives you a higher probability of that single trade working out well for you and making a positive impact on your P/L. However, since I only trade one size, I like seeing smaller...

    Please Look at these Results

Looks good. Go for it. If I had a system like that, I would trade it. If you're looking for constructive criticism, then mine would be that your average loss is more than your average win. From my reading from Market Wizards, most traders in that book say to have lots of small losses and a...

I use a 19" NEC MultiSync FP950 at 1600x1200 and a 17" LG Flattron 795FT Plus also at 1600x1200 both at 75hz. Both are CRTs and I've been running them for 2+ years with no eye strain problems. I do have glasses -5.00 prescription and in that time, my eyes haven't gone more out of whack. I...

wizetrade, investortoolbox, teach me to trade

I was at my local Wizetrade 2hr free seminar about a month or two ago. The 3 Wizemen that they talk about is a Moving Average crossover system. All of their signals are generated with the basis of moving averages. Moving averages are free in a charting package, so if you educate yourself on...

    What are your Trading Breakthroughs?

Once I'm in a position, I set a hard stop. The word on the street says not to set a hard stop because it will be picked off. I think that's paranoia. My 200-1000 shares will make no difference in the long run of a liquid stock. And that's the bottom line, cause Stone Cold Says So!
