Coffee and Orange juice - long term outlook

for a long term play of say 2-5 years, how do you go abouts getting into a position that long. Do you have to manually roll over the position or will a broker do that automatically. What is the cost of carrying a position that long? So for instance, on a liquid commodity like Crude Oil, say...

    E*trade Pro

i trade using etrade pro's lightspeed platform but thru an affilated prop firm and not with them directly. ask them how much your per trade fees will be, if they have a desk fee, data fees, ecn rebates, how much/if you have to put up a capital contribution and how much that is. ask if you get...

TASR...was that the blow off top?

TASR was on the hard to borrow list so I couldn't go short on it. However, I did catch some profits after the big sell off at 12:23 going long for the bounce.

Poll: Do you gross 1.5 cents per share?

Calculate your GROSS/SHARE by taking the dollar amount you make per month (or use lifetime if you have the data) divided by the total volume you trade. ex. Last month I grossed $3105/340,400 shares = 0.9cents Along the lines of 90% of traders fail, I hear that the best EQUITY traders in...

    Which ECNs still exist?

Is therel a 11cent cancel fee? I never heard of that. Seems like that would work against an exchange. I mean, they make money from order flow and having people put orders in so a cancel fee would discourage that.

You, the trader vs. Trump's Apprentice

What did Trump say? 215,000 applications and 1 apprentice? With a $250k salary and the amount of information and contacts I would meet being his apprentice would easily make me walk away from trading. Hell, Kwami had a great job at GSCO and he left.

Hey Reitberg, thanks for reading my message. I see that you are very helpful in pointing out software that doesn't fit my requirements. I definitely did not check out your links nor will I consider J Charts as a possible vendor. Regards, DNAJ65000

What Charting Program Do You Use?

I currently have my hands on TradeDesk from Etrade Pro and I think the charting on it is garbage. I thought I would be okay with it since all I need is to chart intraday with 3 Simple Moving Averages. However, the software only has history back 3 days even though I set the properties to 10...

    A pleasant trading error

I had an error back in 2000 when I asked for a $11,000 wire to be sent to my bank account. They sent it twice and didn't notice it for almost 4 mos. However, their Reconcilation Dept finally caught on and I paid it back without a fuss. I vote, keep it there and earn the interest. Of...

    Stay or go ?

is the best advice for success and happiness, IMHO. Sounds like you're having a good time in China so stay with it. The economy is good (if you're in an urban center) so why give it up? There's nothing in the trading rulebook that says you have to do it full time to make money. If you...

Madrid Al Qaeda Terrorist Attack Effects Trading

I did some research on the US equities market. The past couple days of sell off has me worried. If the market does not rally tomorrow (Friday) and closes at the LOD, I have a feeling we are in for a big correction on Monday. I did some comparisons on the 29 and 87 crash and 9/11 correction...
