    The "Always In" Debate

This post is intended for DAYTRADERS only. Do you employ an, "Always In" strategy. That is to say, you are never out of the market, and your exits are merely reversals. I've been toying with the idea of doing so, and am looking to hear about the philosphy behind this strategy from other...

The Importance of the number "3"

Throughout my studies of Technical Analysis, I have come across the number 3 repeatedly: Three fans, three lines, three market phases, triple tops, head and shoulders(three peaks), three types of gaps, three market directions, three points to define a trend, etc........ I am wondering if...

Good times of the day to day trade

The first hour of the of the day is the best time to trade, as liquidity and volatility are typically at their peak. Aside from that, the morning session on the whole is better than the afternoon.......

Do you think this happens ?

I never enter limit orders on the book and let them sit, as I do believe that brokers do watch profitable clients and will trade off of their signals. On top of that, I believe that if I show "my hand," the potential for exploitation increases considerably.

Catching the intraday High and Low

Since my comments have been so well received, let me try to re-phrase....... 1. We're not ALL trying to buy lows/sell highs. There are many intraday traders whose focus is totally different. 2. My question was not to see how many people here are trying to operate in this manner, rather...

Catching the intraday High and Low

After some extensive reading on ET, I have noticed something interesting regarding the trading strategies/styles most often employed. Rarely do we find people whose approach is solely focused on buying(selling) the low(high) and selling(buying) the high(low) of the day. I've read tons...

Hands down dbphoenix. Bolter's most recent journal about market profile was particularly enlightening. Volente has been very generous with his market knowledge as well.

How do you define a reaction H/L?

One of the few things I debate in my trading on a regular basis is the criteria used to define a reaction H/L. After myriad discussions with many traders, there seems to be a mixed consensus. I am interested in how people here on ET define a reaction H/L. For the sake of this thread, we...

Which is your style, Follow or Counter the trend

My style of trading is with the trend. I day trade futures. I prefer to try and jump on a moving train, instead of trying to stop it. It's all a matter of personality. I know plenty of "against the trend" traders who do very well.
