Learning Options - Any good books or resources to recommend?

Thanks for letting me know. For some reason - I thought it was the same Hull.

Learning Options - Any good books or resources to recommend?

Thanks! So what you're saying is that it's more on the theoretical side, while the other titles mentioned are more practical with regards to actual trading strategies of options? I'll probably order Hull anyway and add in a few others also.

Learning Options - Any good books or resources to recommend?

Thanks, guys. Did you guys also read Hull? I'm particularly attracted to the book by Hull since he's a 'Market Wizard' and have actually made a substantial amount of money with his own trading operations and funds.

Any good books to read lately? Leisure reading is also of interest.

Nice! I actually have a friend reading the first book you mentioned right now. Definitely interested in these type of reads as well. So, thanks.

Any good books to read lately? Leisure reading is also of interest.

Hi all, My old trading library consisted of roughly 100 + books. I think most of them were fairly useless, but I was new to the market when I started buying books and studying them. I sold all my trading books the last time I moved, but kept Trading & Exchanges by Harris and also New Trading...

Learning Options - Any good books or resources to recommend?

Hi all, I'm interested in learning more about options with a long/middle term goal of making money trading options. Is Options, Futures, and Other Derivatives by Blair Hull still considered and up to date for a good place to start? Anything else or any other books worth checking out? I day...

How do you organize your trading notes and material?

That's very generous of you, Alex! Thanks a lot! It does indeed look neat. I'm sure this must be the way to go. PS: Nice research. I look into similar stuff myself. Best regards.

How do you organize your trading notes and material?

Thanks a lot, everyone. Evernote/Onenote seems to be commonly mentioned. Is there a learning curve using those or is it fairly straight out of the box to use? The prior/current format would simply be an Excel file with 2 sheets per day. One with an annotated chart and comments. One with my...

How do you organize your trading notes and material?

Hi all, I'm continuously studying the markets and making notes and taking screenshots. If I backtest a particular pattern or behavior, I have one folder for that with screenshots and notes. I do my best to organize this information logically in folders or separate documents according to...

Any experience hiring office space as a lone trader? Worth it?

Absolutely agree. Would not consider trading in a public lounge or crowded place. The library I'm talking about may be different than what you guys envision. It's very quiet and have a zero-tolerance for talking. But the ideal would obviously a dedicated office space.

Any experience hiring office space as a lone trader? Worth it?

It usually wasn't a problem in the past when studying at least. I'd just load a few books on top of my computer and leave for a brief moment. If going out for a long time - I'd just bring it with me. It's a bit different when having live charts up of course since you may not want to turn things...

Any experience hiring office space as a lone trader? Worth it?

Thank you for your detailed reply, wrbtrader. :) I have my girlfriend over today and I notice it fulfilling my very small social needs. Yesterday I was more restless and felt the urge to leave the house. The problem with a GF (and I imagine kids also) is that it's a distraction. :)

Any experience hiring office space as a lone trader? Worth it?

Completely agree. The mentioned library did have cables, but I never got them to work, so... :) To clarify - I am talking about an extra LCD 15/16" screen which is powered through the USB on my laptop. I've carried one of these with me to the library in the past. No problems except feeling a...

Any experience hiring office space as a lone trader? Worth it?

Yes. Your description is spot on. I will probably consider this as my first option. I loved being at that library as a student. I never liked studying with other people. In fact. I hated it. But I loved the short breaks where I could chat up people and stretch my legs whenever I felt like it...

Any experience hiring office space as a lone trader? Worth it?

Yes. I hear you there. Maybe I should get a dog. Too bad I'm allergic. :) Definitely. I bet most succcesful technical traders need to be able to work long hours on their own. I don't need much social interaction, but there's a difference between a little bit and nothing. But we're all...

Any experience hiring office space as a lone trader? Worth it?

Another solution I've considered in the past is to simply take a few days in the week and trade from my local University's library which I mentioned in the first post. It's a silent place, but filled with people such that it satisfies my social needs. There's also a coffeeshop in the building...

Any experience hiring office space as a lone trader? Worth it?

Cool. :) Do you use this on a daily basis or just when you feel like it? Since you don't have a dedicated desk - does this mean you work only from a laptop or have a mobile solution somehow? Are there other traders in your building or is it more a mix of various types of professionals?

Any experience hiring office space as a lone trader? Worth it?

Hi all, I'm looking into the possibillity of hiring office space for my day trading operations. Ideally with other traders, but not a necessity and maybe not so easy for me to find as traders are limited in numbers where I live. It seems like most office spaces here are geared towards start-up...
