fwiw, I start the trendline at the other end, then run it back to the point one, then go back and adjust the angle if needed. By now I hardly notice that it's a workaround. More irritating is the fact that my main ES chart has for days now been selecting an earlier line than the one I want...

I see what you mean re the LTLs, and understand about the volume decreases not being equal. But it seems to me trading on bar ends of 15 minute bars (mind you, I can't imagine doing this myself) you wouldn't see that it's a finer fractal until much much later, and it could cost you a lot more...

cnms2, In realtime, why wouldn't you see the 12:00 bar as an ftt on decreasing volume? And wouldn't the increasing green volume at 13:35, following decreasing red, also be a change signal? tia

The difficulty with this in terms of entries is that pt3's are a lot easier to identify in a timely manner than FTTs because of the lower volume and pace (usually, sometimes an FTT is obvious) . So risk is reintroduced in the greater chance of making a mistake.

Funny you should ask, that's my third JH method stock trade - in at 4.17, but only a trial portion. And I sold half at 4.74. -palinuro

I suspect the spinning girl illusion, if it corresponds to anything specific, would have more to do with right eye / left eye dominance than it does with any supposed left-brain - right- brain opposition. Of course, the eyes are cross-wired to the different hemispheres, but we're all a...

I have it but it's 67 pages, too big for an ET attachment - I can email it if you like. Now that you've reminded me of it, I think I'll reread it and see what I missed the first time... -palinuro

Haroki, Where did you find those numbers? Somewhat different from Jack's PRV table... I think using a weighting system based on half-hour intervals, the opening estimates of PRV would still be too high - though that should be fairly easy to judge, and comparisons between stocks should be...

WGTrader, I'm also working on recreating your tables in Excel -- coming to this from the futures thread I'm much more interested in channels and volume than indicators and mechanical scans. Your tables are just the ticket. But do you just recalculate the PRV every half hour, as Jack's table...

It's true you can't draw into it, but if you right click on the line and select extend right you can extend the lines way out there...

That seems a very good solution, I wish I could program it in QuoteTracker. I run an MA in the same screen and then adjust mentally or manually when it drifts too far from the zero line. Still find Str/Squ must be interpreted carefully and in context, however. -palinuro

Yes, it continually shows the current value and the complete history, bar to bar and intrabar. I find that more precise and I'm happy to interpret it, but each to their own. I found the 15-bar MA too twitchy, so I use a 20-bar. The MA also gives you a good idea of how much you should...

In 'select indicators' I can add as many lines as in any other chart, no problems, though I've only been using 3 (may try 5 now, thanks to Pr0crast's suggestion). Also I find it more usable than str/squ in any of the other programs I've used. What other problems are you having? Running...

After about a month of back and forth, I finally got the files to QT support so that they could predictably recreate the vanishing volume lines problem. And the next day they had a fix! It will be included in the next beta release, but meanwhile anyone having this problem should contact QT...

They've done several of these updates to improve the handling of lines - I'd run into some very strange problems with lines in the price pane. But they just (this morning) told me to download the file again, so maybe this updated version does fix the gaussian problem. We'll know in a...

Make sure you email support about the volume pane problem, the more complaints they receive the more likely they are too accelerate a fix ( I suppose...). Meanwhile I keep the Backup Settings dialog open and click on Backup ... Right Now whenever I get nervous about the gaussians...

Esteban, Unfortunately I had to go out in midafternoon yesterday (CET), so I missed all but the first hour of the trading day. Sometimes the time difference is very frustrating (and tiring). I'm not sure at this point how to articulate what gives me a sense of a forceful test. Context is...
