    TD Ameritrade let down

I've been with TD since the Datek days. I agree with you. They are quickly becoming one of the more expensive outfits and their platforms for the most part suck. The only reason I stay with them is because I can wire money in and out all day where others have holds or send checks , etc...

What to look for in a Prop Firm?

$5k does not give you a lot of choices. In my opinion, it's also not enough money for option trading. The better prop firms that allow option trading ask for around $100k. [/B] Considering all the uncertainty around these firms 5k is all I would be willing to risk. For my strategy...

What to look for in a Prop Firm?

I thought the one year lock up was a SEC rule. Why do some firms adhere to this and others do not?

What to look for in a Prop Firm?

That is my fear. Echo would be my first choice but I would need 25k to 100k for the options capability which defeats the purpose. I believe BT requires 10k. I saw CTG for 2.5k but no options.

Well, after spending about 30 hours reading every single thread and post on here (literally )about Prop firms I am no further then when I started. After reading posts about Les, tuco, etc. I am thouroughly afraid to even fund an account with a prop firm. What should I be looking for? A...

    Series 56 - LOL Thread

I completely agree they are a waste of time but it helps give the industry and it's menbers credibility (god knows it needs it) just like any other professional industry with their licenses. Does it mean you're going to be a successful trader.. no. But by having the 7, 6 and 53 it states you...

    Series 56 - LOL Thread

Suck it up..... I would take every S exam known to man if they would let me just because I love the industry as a whole and would want to be as knowledgable as I can for my profession. Whether It was relevant to my position or not. But thats me

    FINRA registered Prop firms

just talked to them 10 minutes ago. 5k for intra day, 10k for overnight. 25k for options, 100k for electronic options. They way he said it though is they prefer at least 10k. 30:1 leverage though

    FINRA registered Prop firms

If you like Echo be prepared to fork up to 100k which, to me, defeats the whole purpose of a prop house.

    Lake Street Trading

Thanks for your input. I was suspect myself. I am finding it difficult to find a good shop. Each shop mentioned on here seems to have 100 good and 100 bad reviews. I'm looking for registered shop that will allow me to hedge my trades via buying calls and puts. The only one I have seen so far...

What were thinking when you placed this trade? Its 52 week high was only 4.37. Was there chatter of a buyout or something?

How much money have you lost before figuring it out???

I lost about 5k over 5 years when I thought I could be a day trader. I swing trade now. Sometimes hold for a day to a couple of weeks. I always take on a partial hedge using weeklys or front month options. The best decision I ever made. It reduces my profit for the insurance (sometimes)but...
