    Download annual returns for stocks?

Had not heard of headless chrome or bash - had to wiki them. Since you offered :), I attached a list of 422 other stock symbols I'd like in both text and Excel. If some other format would be more convenient, let me know. This should hold me for awhile. Is it possible to go back to 2004 (vs...

    Download annual returns for stocks?

Wow, thanks! That's great. How did you do that? Is there a way I can do it, keep it updated, and add additional tickers?

    Download annual returns for stocks?

Thanks for the post. I use PV, it's a great site, but I need the data for hundreds of stocks. That would be too labor intensive. They probably have limits on how many tickers you can enter, too.

    Download annual returns for stocks?

Thanks for the post. It's an idea. What are you suggesting for the source? Individual downloads for hundreds of stocks is a lot of work, even automated. Then there is the problem of dividends. Yahoo Finance quotes have an Adjusted Close but using it only matches Morningstar returns for the...

    Download annual returns for stocks?

Does anyone know where you can download (for free or a reasonable fee) year by year total returns for stocks, like this Morningstar page for IBM: (e.g. 2018=-21.86, 2017=-4.02, etc.)? https://www.morningstar.com/stocks/xnys/ibm/price-fair-value

    Risk Management Psychology

A problem is that even experienced traders with profitable methods will experience multiple, consecutive losses and these are difficult to deal with emotionally. It can cause you to have doubts about yourself, your method, etc. The more losers in a row, the harder it is. And worse yet when...

Is there anyone who makes money in the stock market or commodity market?

I have many friends in Mensa (IQ top 2%). Unfortunately, IQ is not correlated to success in life, especially financial success. Members who brag about high IQs are generally people that others avoid.

I have read "Trading in the Zone" but still struggling with psychology

I've read Trading in the Zone and it was good. But, the best I've ever read on trading psychology was "Habitudes of Highly Successful Traders" by Ruth Barrons Roosevelt. Very much worth reading if you can find a copy. Don't underestimate it from the silly word in title.

    High Probability Trend Strategy

My understanding is that Gladwell was not talking about 10,000 hours to be competent, as in driving a car, but in order to be expert, as in Mario Andretti.

    High Probability Trend Strategy

Gladwell's book "Outliers" says it only takes 10,000 hours to become an expert. Maybe trading is an exception. ;)

    Won't mechanical system stop working?

The markets will change during walk forward because a time period is needed that includes bull, bear and flat markets.

    Won't mechanical system stop working?

Your walk forward testing should tell whether the model continues to be profitable when markets change.

Is buying options a mugs game?

Buying options is a valid strategy and can (sometimes) provide more leverage and less risk than buying the underlying, but you need to know what you're doing. I wouldn't buy options deep ITM. I suggest no more than ATM which should be a delta of 50 or less. Also, you need to know how long...

Is there anyone here who is self-taught, consistently profitable and confident of continued success?

Yes! His post is pretty much unreadable without paragraphs.
