The best delta for a credit spread?

Hi guys, I read this on the Montreal Exchange's OptionMatter website regarding selling credit spreads: They recommend: selling 1-month “At-the-money” strikes (50 delta) and buying “Out-of-the-money” strikes (25 deltas) and selling short-dated options (3-7 weeks) as they take advantage of higher...

I want to invest in real estate but I can't afford a down payment

The average home price in Vancouver BC is around $800,000. A 20% down payment equals $160,000. I can't afford that at the moment. It seems conventional financing may not be a viable option for me. Is there any other way of investing in real estate? I've heard of lease options. Have any you...

What limit price should I enter for a credit spread?

Hi guys, Let's say I'm doing a bull put spread for AMD. The max return is $18 according the Interactive Brokers. Should the limit price I enter be -0.18? When I enter this number I get a message saying: "The limit price exceeds the market price by 11.73%; the current limit is 3%." What...

Selling weekly options vs monthly options

Do you agree with this statement? With all else being equal, selling weekly options (eg bull put spreads) has a higher success rate than selling monthly options because there's less of a chance that the stock will decline, say, 10% to your short strike price? Stocks typically need more time...

Starting an online business vs trading stocks?

Thanks for the response. I don't mind dropshipping. I like the idea of looking for products to dropship, setting up zen desk for customer service, doing market research, but I'm not comfortable with risking $2000+ on FB testing. What if I don't discover any profitable campaigns/demographics...

How to see volume and open interest for vertical spreads?

Hi guys, I'm looking to trade a vertical spread in IB but I can't find the OI and volume for the legs. I've included a snapshot of what it looks like. It seems that volume/OI is only visible for individual puts in the Calls and Puts section. Can you please help? Thanks

Does leverage magnify the commission I must pay my broker?

Hi guys, if I use, say, 4:1 leverage and the spread is normally 2 pips for the EUR/USD, does that mean I pay 8 pips? or do I still only pay 2 pips? Thanks

[newbie question] Is $2000 enough to buy a bull put spread combo?

Thanks for the input. When I looked for the 45/40s in IB it said N/A. So a 5 point difference between both strike prices is better than 10?

[newbie question] Is $2000 enough to buy a bull put spread combo?

Sorry I didn't know a combo meant calls and puts. I meant a bull put spread. Just puts.
