    2014: The Battle for Survival

No guts, no glory! LOL. The big swings are where the big returns come from.

    2014: The Battle for Survival

Good work! History doesn't lie. You've proven yourself in the stock market in the past, and a couple of subpar years doesn't change that. Where are the haters now?

    2014: The Battle for Survival

Well he doomed himself to a 50 percent return last year while working a full time job. Thats pretty good in my book.

    2014: The Battle for Survival

Oh no, here come the Monday Morning Quarterbacks who have never even sniffed anything close to what neke has made in his trading career and telling him what to do. This guy made over 50 percent last year, and has made over $700k net since reporting his trading here. How many posting here can...

new color of the thread titles , blue ?!

The colors are totally washed out, hard on the eyes. Why not make the new blue color an option instead of the old classic colors? The home page is still blue even when I change to classic colors.

Thinking on Japan: Inflation, bond yields, etc

Why would bond yields go up if the BOJ is doing massive bond purchases? Its like the Fed, they have suppressed bond yields with QE. You will get a weaker yen, but not higher bond yields.

MINI! OPTIONS next week. ie SPY7, AAPL7 etc..

Mini options will be a total dud. Most option volume comes from pros, not retail. There will be no liquidity, it will be like trading mini gold futures or single stock futures, another useless product with no volume adding to the growing list.

    Market charlatans

There are so many crappy trading books out there, because those that really know about trading don't reveal their know how. The best books on trading are the old ones, Reminiscences of a Stock Operator, Stock Market Psychology, Speculation as a Fine Art. All those books are over 90 years old...

My over 6-year trading experience in a nutshell

Yes you don't lose anything if you don't trade, but you also don't gain anything either, and time is money, so you shouldnt just wait for two aces to play, two jacks or two queens should be plenty good enough.

    2012: The Battle for Survival

Your analogy is terrible. Trading on the side while working full time is nothing compared to running a restaurant. Trading is basically a higher form of gambling for most people, there are huge entertainment returns even if trading eventually results in monetary loss. There is no such...

'Quant' hedge funds headed for worst month since Aug 2007

Most of these trend following funds are long funds very reluctant to go short. They get killed in when a bull market transitions to a bear market like what is happening now. trend following is a crowded strategy, it will never outperform the S&P over the long term.

    Commodities are Toppy

Wrote the following in my blog before Monday's crude oil "flash crash": In the commodities futures market, you have two main groups: speculators and commercial users. They are now set for a collision course. They are due to monetary and economic forces at work. With the Fed hellbent on...

    ES Journal - 2012

The next couple of weeks are going to make all the newly minted bulls question why they changed sides. Fundamentally, this is the weakest economy since we bottomed in 2009. The fact that we are still trading at 1335 tells me all the stock funds are piled into US equities. Other world markets...

Maybe he has no edge and he's trying his best but still losing. I dont think most daytraders can now survive in this HFT infested trading world. Most men cant beat computers.

Expecting a monster short squeeze early next week. Greece elections are fundamentally meaningless, but have been instilling irrational fear among investors. Once they realize that the world did not end on Monday, the chicken littles will start piling in on the long side. We are still 80...

    ES Journal - 2012

Like most traders on ET, you have no criteria for entering and exiting trades. Is it technicals? Fundamentals? Price action? Where your stops are isn't the point. The point is determing your edge and trading within those parameters. Most people here seem to either be addicted to averaging...

Spain's bailout request- Crash or Rally on Monday??

If the market didn't already go up 4% in anticipation and rumors of the bailout, I would say this rally would have more time but we have been moving higher for several days. Greece elections next weekend, you will not have the long buying necessary to stay at higher levels this week. Short...
