    ES Journal Archive (2011)

Net buying? For every buyer there is a seller. So, the net is always zero. Now, there may be more contracts going off at the offer than the bid, or vice versa, but that is another matter.

    ES Journal Archive (2011)

Geez, had a resting short @45, got filled and stopped out 2 points higher all in one second. Some douche bag bought 3,000+ cars. Did some euro-head find a few hundred billion in the seat cushions? EUR problem solved?

    ES Journal Archive (2011)

Wow, well, gee, 1 through 4 apply to a hell of a lot of products. This is an ES Journal, (at least it was while B1S2 was posting), not a Futures Journal, but whatever.

1.610? Isn't it trading around 1.36? And what does that have to do with the ES?

Easy Orange are FIXED rate loans, not ARMs. Thought you would have known that. Also, they require you to make bi-weekly electronic payments. Max loan amount is $750k http://home.ingdirect.com/products/products.asp?s=EasyOrange

Seriously, was that necessary? I suggest you continue your travels. Maybe you will find maturity along the way.

IB loses $28 million buying MF Global Stock

A huge bet? IB had a net capital balance of $1.3B as of August, according to the CFTC. I don't think a bet of 2% of net capital is a huge bet. What percentage of trading capital do you risk every day?

Next generation of Americans SOL. Thanks Babyboomers.

Yeah, and then the rest of the world became industrialized and globalized, and then the over-paid, over-entitled, can't be fired union workers got their asses and their pink slips handed to them. The unionized auto workers is a perfect example. Decade after decade they kept churning out crap...

CME changes margin req to INITIAL = MAINTENANCE !?!?!?

Apparently you do want to waste time, you wrote the post right? So, fine, let's continue. I made one simple post, and was told incorrectly by the OP that I was wrong. I tried to point out to the OP, that in fact, he was wrong. Unable to realize that he was indeed wrong, he proceeded to again...

CME changes margin req to INITIAL = MAINTENANCE !?!?!?

It is you who cannot read. I pointed all of this out in my first post to this thread. Oh, and by the way, you have provided ZERO analysis to the issue thus far. Keep up the good work.

CME changes margin req to INITIAL = MAINTENANCE !?!?!?

Once again, you still don't get it. As a day trader you don't need a "buffer" as you call it between initial and maintenance, because maintenance margin only applies to held positions at the end of day. Now, your broker as an element of risk management, may have a daily $ loss limit that it...

CME changes margin req to INITIAL = MAINTENANCE !?!?!?

You just don't get it. The initial margin is not changing. Its only the maintenance margin, which only applies to the end of day settlement price of the contract. If you are not holding a position at the end of day, then maintenance margin, whatever it may be is irrelevant.

CME changes margin req to INITIAL = MAINTENANCE !?!?!?

This will have no effect on day trading futures. Swing trading? Well, you are either going to have to reduce positions, or pony up mo' money. http://www.cmegroup.com/clearing/cme-clearing-overview/performance-bonds.html

    MF Global announcement

They did not have a net negative capital balance, but they apparently had an insufficient net capital balance. I don't know if that was bad data, or what, but the month before and the month after, they had sufficient net capital...

Mf Global -Dick Bove - Cnbc - Everything Is Fine -

Damn, you really are clueless aren't you? Good assets, as opposed to bad assets, right? Ha! Please describe for me what a "bad" asset looks like. Hostile takeover? Corzine would have given his right nut for a takeover this morning. Now, at best it will be a huge take under.

Just got this message from Transact Futures: "Effective immediately the CME has suspended trading with our clearing firm MFGlobal. We are working with the management of the MFGlobal, the CME and other clearing firms to re-enable trading soon."

How much does life costs where you live?

Sorry, but that is not your real cost. What is the VAT tax in Belgium? How much is the income tax on $27,600? Import duties? There is no free lunch. You are paying considerably more for healthcare and education one way or another.
