    October

I liked your precedent thread "scalping and trading" very much. I learned a lot from it. You explained a bit of your strategy and showed some of your numbers. Even without charts, a journal can give a pretty accurate idea of what the stats of the game really is : - # trades / day - winning...

    Mr Subliminal's Remote Trading Journal

The good thing with a max number of RT is that it stops the bleeding when needed. But there is a trap in wich I fell before : On good days you can do a minimum of RT (5, 6 or 10) and quit because you reach a daily goal. But on bad days, you are going to use your full playing power (30 RT) to...

    Anyone trading futures with T&S?

Due to the netting that does Eurex, their T&S is not the sharp tool that it could be. However, I learned to watch it and finally find it very useful. I use it mainly for my exits. When a weird/noisy move has just occured, I want to know if it is "critical" for my trade. In this case I look...

    Mr Subliminal's Remote Trading Journal

You had good reflexs today. Don't mind the daily goal. As you know, only average matters. It is healthier having a 100/300/200/100/200 week than a 500/500/-1100/500/500.

Tax rate trading DJ STOXX 50

I'm sorry but the December contract had a much wider spread today. And the Dec. daily volume is still lower than Sep. contract. I keep trading the Sep.02 until Monday.

    Mr Subliminal's Remote Trading Journal

Another way to see it is having a max number of trades per day. It seems that you need about 10 trades (and often less) to reach your daily "goal" (IMO that goal shouldn't be a rigid $$ amount). When you are trading more than your usual number of RT, that could tell you that something is going...

Tax rate trading DJ STOXX 50

Thank you Aaron, It's funny, I have always traded the current contract until its last trading day. I guess there isn't such a big difference on this 2 rollover days ?

are we just making things complicated?

I would have never dared to make a post like this because I thought that nobody would believe me. But I confess, I use the same system than yours

    JT's ES Trades

I'm glad you appreciate my thoughts. I consider myself not more than just an ex-still-newbie that just got out of the learning curve. About hard stops : Personnaly I use them as an 'emergency exit'. In fact, I'm often out before they get hit. The point I want to make : if you have enough...

    Math

    Ok, i take the easiest solution : considering that the post frequency remains as they are today. So, we have (N = the number of days from today) : A = Aphex's number of posts = 574 + 21.73 x N D = Don's number of posts = 2287 +7.15 x N I have to find N to solve : A>D The solution is...

    JT's ES Trades

I looked into your numbers. Your stats are : % = 74 Average Win = 0.87 Average Loss = -2.17 Average Hodling Time Win = 3:30 Average Hodling Time Loss = 6:17 Gross Profit = 75.0 Commision = 806.4 Net Profit = -731.4 Your % is very good but doesn't serve you much. You should...

    JT's ES Trades

JT I put my very first trade in future market in 09/2000. After a ugly start, I spend the 2001 year to find the good market/product, broker, time frame, strategy. During this period, I got the ugly “reject screen” 3 times. That saved me. When it happened I came back to paper trading...

    JT's ES Trades

JT, keep up the good work. I don't want to confuse your mind, but as you just added IB market depth to your toolbox I want to give you my opinion about it: My trading improved when I removed it of my screen. For 2 reasons : - The refresh time for the book was too slow (for ESTX50). My...

IB order does not appear in T&S

Here is another email I got from Tenfore confirming my guess. "EUREX is netting the data, that means max. 1 update every 2 seconds... It means that they are sending maximal 1 trade every 2 seconds. If there are more trades, they do not get transmitted." So, if you trade Eurex with IB...

    Tape Reading in practice

I never found so much to read about tape reading. Probably because it is difficult to describe and explain. IMO, you just learn it by watching price action during hours, days & months. Here is a copy of a post made on ET some time ago that was helpful to me (sorry don't remember the member's...

IB order does not appear in T&S

I had a phone call with a nice guy at Tenfore this morning. He explained me that Eurex exchange do something that is called 'neting' : they group every trades occuring in a 2 seconds interval and let them appear in one line. That would explain why sometimes I don't see the line where my lonely...

    How long do you hold?

My holding time for winning trades averages 2'00 (losers bails out much quickly). In the last few months, my longest trade lasted 3'59. It took me some time before i find my beloved time frame.
