You are correct in that observation. MA's on a smaller time fractal can be very misleading, because as you state, even though a candlestick has formed, the MA's direction has still yet to be determined. They do swing wildly on smaller time frame charts. As a trader who uses 1 to 5 minute charts...

Ninja Trader has market replay on its SIM for futures. I'm not sure if it has the same capabilities for equities, but I'd bet it does, dependent on your broker/data providor.

Go to Kingston's or any other memory manufacturer's website and enter your PC model. It will tell you what type of RAM your computer can use. Then go buy some wherever you wish.

ATM strategies are available in the Ninja demo from AMP and it is an excellent piece of software. Stop loss orders are only a fraction of what it is capable of.
