decimalization has nothing to do with it...it is the increment size that is important. personally i would think that 5 cent increments would be the best case scenario. i am so tired of the specialist trading 1 cent in front of me all day everyday.

i think you may have confused what i was saying. i used arca to trade the spy's the other day...i had to wait 4 minutes to get confirmation that my order had been cancelled. the only other time i have had to wait so long for a fill/cancellation is when i used arca on a listed/nyse stock...i.e...

i tried arca on the spy's the other day and had 4 minute cancellations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i know the specialist can hold arca orders on the nyse...maybe the amex specialist can also.... i know i will not be using arca again for any amex security. i have seen some bad quotes on arca today.

i interviewed with onsite back in 1996.....i remember market orders were 2 1/2 cents per share and limit orders were 3 1/2 cents a share. what's funny is i remember thinking, "wow, that's pretty good."

i felt dirty every time i went through that floor..... i started to take a trader position on the mid-am but i didn't trust the guy backing me.

did you handle any mid-am orders...those guys were the "pits"!!!!!!!!!!!
