Some sense from a political/fed leader?

Finally some truth starting to be sputtered by those in charge. I'm glad there are at least 2 politicians world wide with their heads out of the sand. http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSN2413594320100425?type=marketsNews "There are substantial fiscal consolidations that are required in a...

10 Places not to use your Debit Cards

I have a 6 digit pin number, with a credit card number I can make purchase where ever I want over the phone or internet and all I need is your card number. Even in person all I need to do is forge your signature and I have what I want. Credit card fraud costs credit card companies/consumers...

10 Places not to use your Debit Cards

How do you us a debit card online? I thought all debit cards had pin numbers associated with them? Anyway I use debit all the time, we get free transactions, the security is better, mine is insured the same way my credit cards are and online banking makes it nice and easy to balance the...

Canadians angered over "Buy American" rule

I've lived in a couple different Canadian cities and visited many American cities, these statements are absolutely true. The women in Montreal are amazingly beautiful and exotic looking. They are also extremely classy. You won't see women like this in their numbers anywhere in North America.

    Swine Flu...

The same reason they killed 300 million chickens when the bird flu started to spread in China. The same reason there was a ban of Canadian beef to the US/Japan and Britain when BSE was found in a Canadian cow.

    Swine Flu...

Watch the ban on hog import/exports come into effect in the near future if this outbreak doesn't clear up quickly. There me be a major impact on processing plants as well.

Stop paying credit cards. Give yourself a bailout!!

What I don't understand is that CC companies lend out money at 10-30% interest to account for the risk they take on the borrowers. These rates seem reasonable in the current environment, but what made these rates reasonable a few years ago when the default levels/risk were relatively low...

Housing market is recovering - not!

They should take that suburb, have people move out of there houses in one part of the developement into a nicer home on the other side of the developement and bulldoze the half they left.

World's cheapest car goes on sale

Well because maybe the used car market around the world is nothing like it is in North America, where 2/3 of the cars for sale are used. In many places people fix 10 year old cars for their daily driver, thus there are few used cars available for sale. I can't remember the last time I saw a...

    skeptic economists

You need to re-read what I posted. The point I was trying to make is that there is too much housing inventory. If people in large sub-divisions voluntarily all moved into one half of the the sub-division and the other half(which is foreclosed or not sold anyway) was bulldozed, the value of the...

World's cheapest car goes on sale

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjrEQaG5jPM Does this type of driving take skill or lack of skill? In my experience, driving is about being used to your surroundings and understanding how others around you operate(my grandpa still won't drive in a city with street lights, but he is more...

    skeptic economists

They are beyond worthless, they are worth more burned down for reasons already described. In some new suburbs, where 50% of the homes are unsold or foreclosed, they would be better off consolidating the people into half of the homes on the same streets and bulldozing the rest. The inventory...

Larget Canadian energy company - merger announced today

Petro Canada seems to be a good hedge against low oil prices for Suncor. Perhaps Suncor is positioning itself for a more international presence, which it will need in the near future if Enbridge builds their proposed pipeline to a Pacific hub. The pipeline project, at least imo, is more...

    Dateline NBC

I didn't watch the show, but I assume the house is in foreclosure? There are two sides to every contract and the fact that many banks are being over run in foreclosures is a sign they didn't do their job in managing the risk. And so they pay for it(LOL read bailed out). Five years ago you...

Ha!!! Next Bull Market for Stocks May Hinge on ‘Net Gen-ers’

The knowledge about good money management, investing, economics etc is starting to creep into the mainstream. It is not coming from their parents though, it is coming from their peers and the internet. Part of the problem(solution) of todays mess is that so many people are aware of the issues...

Ha!!! Next Bull Market for Stocks May Hinge on ‘Net Gen-ers’

I'd rather be 25 barely making ends meat, than 55 which as it looks now ALOT of people will be doing. Your generation had it good on the upswing, but screwed it all up and now we are all going to pay for the failure.

Canadian Prime Minister Harper: "Reckless U.S. consumers caused recession"

It is hard not to believe what he is saying here, the US has been the lone world super power for a couple of decades already. With this great power comes great responsibility, and I don't believe the US(consumers/government) has been responsible at all in the last 10 years.

Jon Stewart Just Crucified Cramer & CNBC

And this is a major problem with the American news media, journalistic integrity has been sacrificed and profits have become mantra in news rooms. This isn't the first time Jon Stewart has criticized the media for not doing their job, it is one of his re-occuring themes. When Jon has a look...
