IB almost totally blocked access to my account management

No, you can send them money first without notice in the same way, referencing your name/account number, and it’ll show up. They’ll just send you an alert to check and confirm it afterwards IIRC. If you’re low on margin, send the money now and worry about the follow up later. You can send a...

The company raised $5M by selling new shares to select investors. Good for those investors, good for the company, often bad for everyone else.

    Mandatory Convertible Preferred Stock

It’s like a partial covered call on a long stock. You own the stock, more or less, but you’re not quite sure how much. Less if the price rises, more if it falls. They’re dumb securities with a fake yield, priced in already, to trick retail. Hard pass.

Advice vs opinion: legal boundaries in portfolio assistance?

If this was my friend and they asked, or brought up any dissatisfaction they had with their situation, I would offer to help them for free. Mostly because they’re my friend and because I hate to see brokers ripping off people with high fees or bad investment products when, for example cheaper...

    Banned by a Broker?

I’ve had three different brokers tell me that I had to stop certain types of profitable trading or they would ban me and close my account. I stopped, but have no doubt they would follow through as a “business decision”. Apparently market makers who are lazy (I’m looking at you KCG) and pay big...

SCOTUS kills Biden plan to forgive student loan debt

Indeed. Part of the reason Harvard lost was they were arguing out of both sides of their mouth, that 1) race was only a minor factor, as was allowed under prior SCOTUS cases in some circumstances, but also 2) race was such an important factor that diversity would be unachievable without it...

When will Interactive Brokers notify me that I owe dividends?

If you’re signed up for alerts, you’ll see dividend info announced for your holdings. Once the ex date has passed, you’ll see a dividend accrual liability entry (negative in your case) until the pay date and the corresponding payment is credited (or debited for shorts).

    byebye Interactive

There is no allowed trading of fractional shares on the stock exchanges, so of course they have to be internalized. The brokers are doing you a favor by offering this at all, and no one is forcing you to buy fractional shares anyway.
