    Superstition, Luck and Vodoo

I agree with you on that. Religion is often used as justification for acts that most rational people find unacceptable. But you are right, that is not the fault of the belief system rather what is inside the people the in the first place. Anyway, I'm going to mow the lawn now.:D

    Superstition, Luck and Vodoo

Lundy, with respect I think you confuse opinion with fact. When you have a strong belief it is too easy to start pigeon holing everyone in to 'us and them'. I know many Aethists but I am not aware that any of them are pretending to be God. Neither do they attempt to rule out a certaintity...

    Superstition, Luck and Vodoo

what I find intereting about this thread is the ebb and flow of emotion. It reminds me of the decades of rhetoric that we got in Northern Ireland, fueled by unquestioned beliefs rooted in religion. I can clearly remember an individual stating that the justification for terrorist acts was that...

    Superstition, Luck and Vodoo

Wise words. As my Grandma used to say when everything went wrong (and she lived through the relentless bombing of the East End of London in WW2) 'at least you've got your health, nothing else matters'.

Bono, give it up pal. You seem to be taking Lundys market calls way too personally. Very few of us trade like Lundy but so what? He laid what he's doing and why he thinks his trade will work. Right or Wrong it makes no difference. All of your responses are negative and deriding. You achieve...

    Where Are We Headed?

IMO the market will be driven by earnings warnings/results over this week. There is already a lot of negative expectation priced in but more announcements about job layoffs etc would send the market down a hole, conversely, positive statements could do the opposite. In other words, I have no...

Trader with system 10%+/Mo/3x seeks offer

I'm the regulator for this market and I have just halted trading in this system. It does not meet our regulatory requirements. BTW, you are all trading unregisterd so you cannot claim compensation for your open positions. I win again.

the trend is up, market has bottomed.

I don't know whether it's a top or bottom, all I do know is that shorting is becoming too easy and so many shorts are getting brazen and complacent. I've even heard someone say they short at 9.31am monday and cover at 3.59pm friday. Goodness Gracious Great Balls of Fire, it's just like the...

How many Options to hedge 1 E-mini

one put is equal to 100 shares assuming that it is far enough in the money to be made up only of intrinsic value. I though the e-mini was = c. 800 shares.

Are stock markets destined for oblivion

The markets will always be there. Another maxim to go with all of the others; don't fight the fed, invest in what you know, stocks are a long term sure bet? Are global stock markets going to pre-empt themselves into high tech super efficient non entities? Many people were involved in...

Getting back to 25K in account

well not easy but here goes. Just trade less volatile stocks and look for long term moves, breakouts, set ups etc. If you want to be real conservative then hedge yourself with a put and away you go.

Dear Mr/Mrs. Nasdaq....Can you go up now?!

Weird, we must be thinking along the same lines. They must look at the Dow with envy, it so easy (relativley) to hold that thing up. Even the 100 is only really 10 or so stocks. The rest are garbage.

Dear Mr/Mrs. Nasdaq....Can you go up now?!

Looking at the Naz as a business rather than an index, the guys running Nasdaq must be sweating bullets. They have big global expansion plans and want to expand and do great things. Kinda of going to be hard if the whole market turns into a big group of penny stocks. I believe they must be...

    Highly selective trading

Sort of agree (although I don't scalp) but then look at Seanotes June journal, he does ok at it. My daytrading does suck and I am holding for a move not keyboard jockeying. I think I'm more suited to longer term trading.

    stock trading: monthly return

Yes it does but I get stuck on quantifying that. Normal risk analysis (like a bank would use) will evaluate all of your secured and unsecured borrowing. Most lending is against assets such as buildings, inventory, capital equipment etc. If you only drawdown your borrowing for short periods and...

Dear Mr/Mrs. Nasdaq....Can you go up now?!

Yeah but what will the new technology be that everyone can go bannanas over? What ever it is they will slide them into the Naz and slip the old whores out. Naz will be 10k before you can say bottom! Alternative fuel cells. Nano technology. Philisophers stones. Elixir of life. Space...
