The Ultimate Trading Platform...what would it look like?

I've used various platforms for IB (Ninja was my favorite along with Buttontrade) and now use TradeMaven which I like for its volume filter. Had to change brokers to get TM. It doesn't work with IB. As far as making trades, anyone that your Broker/data supply supports that allows one...

Help with getting started on DAX Futures

Check out some posts on the subject from velocity trader or PM him. I think he trades the Eurex and Velocity has a good reputation as a brokerage. I believe you're better off with a smaller company specializing in futures though than with IB. I use Lion's Futures with a TransAct datafeed...

need help in setting up trading software

I don't think you can trade with less than $2K @IB. I believe you can open an account and get their datafeed for about $500 deposit and $10 per month for datafeed to trade a demo account until you get enough capital. But you need over $2000 to open a trade at IB. QuoteTracker is a...

TRADING FROM CHART - Trade Maven

Some of the volume indicators in TM require Esignal and there may be other indicators in TM that require it. If you need backfilled charts it's useful for that. But I'd use Transact or Lions as your broker (depending upon capital available and number of monthly transactions) if you're going...

TRADING FROM CHART - Trade Maven

Transact is the way to go for data and as a broker. But if you have a small account you can get Transact data through Lions futures. $3000 minimum and $500 per contract. However, Esig is useful for good backfill. A few features of TM depend on Esig. I'd stay away from any broker who...

Can ATI Card support both LCD/CRT?

I'd recommend Newegg and buy a modern card that will support both monitors.

Can ATI Card support both LCD/CRT?

The VE will support two monitors but at only 60Hz refresh. At least that's what mine supported but it only had 32 MB. That card was sold to me as a dual monitor card, and it would run two monitors but not at a decent resolution and I was just using 17" CRTs. Get another card.

any good chat rooms in Paltalk & Hotcomm?

I sent a PM to Macroevent's on IOAMT. This room doesn't fit the criteria that most are looking for on this thread (making clear calls) or I would have posted early on. It is a teaching room for Market Profile method only. The room is run by Bill Duryea with some help from Bob Hoffman (AKA...

Can scaling/averaging down be a viable trading system?

Bill Duryea teaches the scaling in method in conjuction with trading the Market Profile. Works well for him. The point is to get in at edges of the price rotation or a place of previous high volume where the market should slow down and even if it goes against you it will vascilate enough to...

    Best simulator for offline trading?

TradeMaven works with PatSystems and Transact datafeeds. May work with others by now, but I know of those two. Ninja Trader adn Button Trader worrk with IB datafeeds but I don't know about the recording feature.

    DDR Memory compatibility

Many motherboards are incompatible with certain brands of memory. Matching memory is much more important now than it was at old, slower speeds. I switched from '98 to XP and had to change memory before XP would install. Can't tell you why. I'd advise anyone buying memory to go through...

    PC cases

    Order Placement

If one is using a trend following method such as MA crosses, would it be safer to use a buy stop @ or a tick above the cross to confirm the movement is in your direction? Not giving advice here, just asking. I've used the limit to always buy, but I was read this idea the other day in the ET...

What good do daytraders do to society?

Trading creates money out of thin air because of people trading in different time frames. While it may not do much for supply side economics it does much on the demand side. Trading creates a demand for goods and services. How many thousands of dollars are spent monthly by the people on...
