Closing ELOS here with a 2% profit. Sorry, I don't usually like to do this intra-day with no warning but it is called for in this case.

Long Candidates: COT ELOS Short Candidates: HCBK SSS TAP but I'm going to watch this for the first hour before I decide to trade it. Some surprising Econ numbers out again this a.m. so be careful out there today to wait and see how the masses react to the new information.

Today is much like yesterday with not a lot of stocks coming up in my scans. There really was only two that looked decent enough to post in here. Long Candidates: GLD Short Candidates: NYB In light of today's fed announcement and the short list (which is sign of low...

My personal experience is to trust my analysis first and always trade in that direction. That being said, IF the announcement is what I consider to be a big surprise counter to my analysis I will either A. completely not trade that day or B. Tighten up my entry criteria and my stop levels...

% Off Open HR 3.04 (Loss) As mentioned above this was just an ugly trade.

Yes, HR is a real dog today so far. I should have know that today would have been ugly because not a lot of stocks came up in my scans and that's never a good sign and usually results in a narrow range day across the board. Can't hide from the truth, I'm all about transparency. If new...

Yes well you sometimes have to give up profits in exchange for security :) I do occasionally "try" and pick tops and bottoms but it's more for ego and fun then it is for income. Can't help you with NC or Florida but I'm pretty happy with the Saints over the Falcons tonight but not sure...

I have already said, how I trade these stocks is not the issue but to look for the similarities in the pics under varying market conditions. Ask yourself Why would this be a good location to place a trade, then ask yourself How "should" this trade play out, then watch and adjust.

Decent Day SHO -3.54 NPBC .18 (Loss) BKH -3.22 MNTA -2.63 FDO .91 (Loss) I had some issues getting good fills on a few stocks today? I hope me posting these trades in ET doesn't effect my bottom line

Goldman Sachs bet on housing meltdown -- and won

Capitalism cuts both ways. I'm not defending GS but you can't have all the positive that capitalism brings and not expect the negatives. That's just not realistic.

Nice little run and I do not like Friday afternoon trading, so I think I will close all positions now. BDC -3.85 IRM -2.85 That makes up for the knucklehead move I pulled yesterday. Good thing I'm retired and this is just fun money. :D

Mind over Markets is a very good read and I would consider James Dalton a very bright man. MP can be used as a powerful tool BUT I do not believe a trader should use it in a vacuum. A trader has to find a language where the market speaks to him in away that "he" understands. "He" must see...

Back in the day when I had a team of very smart people working for me and tons of computer power, we could build IF/THEN models and catch moves right after numbers where released but as an individual retail traders this is too difficult to do with any consistency. We never know just HOW the...

The Good, The Bad and yes even the Ugly BRC -.88 MAA +3.20 (loss) DEI +3.44 (loss) TXHR -.20 In hindsight today's surprising GDP numbers would have taken me off the short side and onto the sidelines (if I was still managing other peoples money) but to keep things fair, losses must be...

Long Candidates: None Short Candidates: BRC MAA DEI TXRH The S&P and the QQQQ look like they "may" pause here but the Dow has some room left to the downside. We are approaching some significant levels on the major Index's and that can effect how our individual stocks would...
