chasinfla, yes of course. This is from my previous post on page 5 of this thread : << most people are bearish on the market ... if they have already gone short ... then we have a problem, and the market doesn't have enough sellers to drop .. and could reverse course .. but if they haven't...

Mike, Thanks a lot ! I got it.... the put/call ratio stands at 0.73 on 31 May 2002 ... which clearly confirms earlier figures and shows that traders are indeed bullish ... so WATCH OUT guys !!!

pabst, thanks ! wow ... that's the second post on this thread projecting more than 90% drop for the DOW ! I've got an interesting question concerning the crash : what's your time frame guys for that scenario to happen ?

Tripack, what u said is very true ... however, I challenge you to find me an equivalent number of bullish traders, investors, speculators, you name it ... as I said in a previous post, everyone you talk to, whether short-term, intermediate-term or long-term investor, seems to be bearish on...

So if the DOW isn't a good representative of US stocks, does this mean the DOW would crash but the market won't ? I wouldn't pesonally imagine the 30 DOW stocks crashing and the rest of the market holding well ... unless as I said before, a particular sector benefits from it and becomes a safe...

My only concern is, would the market really crash when almost everybody anticipates so ?? We're all bearish here on this thread ... and even the ones outside this thread are bearish ,,, analysts and bearish ... traders and bearish ... investors are bearish ... how about the contrary theory guys ??

Wow ... so almost everybody seems to agree that the DOW specifically is gonna crash ... and I'm not so sure whether I read that earlier post correctly ... but did someone mention a 300 target for the DOW ? meaning a 97% drop ? If so, we better start looking for a different term other than...

bullmarket, I agree, but the problem here is that Nasdaq has already witnessed a very steep decline since April 2000, whereas comparatively, the DOW held well during that period where people mostly regarded it as a safe haven. I wouldn't imagine the case when the DOW itself would be the one...
