Help Setting Up Hot Key Bracket Order <please>

I have a decent understanding of computers, but not TWS, and i can't get this to work. I trade the E-mini contract. I place a (market) order which i transmit manually (in this instance let's assume a "BUY"), then.... I would like to set up a hot-key in order to set up a bracket order for...

IB S&P E-mini quotes... problem today?

On my screen the March 03 ES contract has been jumping between 910 and 913 (with no trades at 911 or 912) since the open. I"m assuming this is incorrect. Anybody else seeing this today, is it just me, or are the trades accurate and there really is no stock for sale or to be bought between 910...

OCA orders on IB... please confirm/help

Two more questions... to group two (or more) orders together, all i have to do is type the same name in the OCA field? For instance, i can just type the letter "a" and the orders marked as such would be OCA? Lastly, can i have 3 orders on the same page for the same security, one is an...

Hey, i did that w/o even looking it up!! I usually just watch the screen and send mkt orders when my upper/lower limit is hit, so i just wanted to make sure i got it right (i was 99% certain, but just wanted to make sure i laid money on the line with those type of orders).

OCA orders on IB... please confirm/help

Just updated my TWS so that i can take advantage of OCA orders. Just a few questions: Limit Price vs Aux Price - is AUX where i want the order activated and the LIMIT price the worse price that i am willing to accept (or do i have these reversed?) If i'm long and want to create 2 sell...

    I want SOX futures!!!

It appears that the futures mentined above are futures on a basket of 5 semiconductor stocks, which is NOT a direct correlation to the SOX index.

    sector index moves without stocks?

I would think your perception is incorrect, as the indexes do indeed change relative to the moves in specific stocks. You can set up a spreadsheet with the underlying stocks (in the correct percentages of course), use the index's divisor, and you will see that they are responsible for the...

    Journal of ashes and Eminis

Somewhat on-topic... would you trade a system that wins 80% of the time, loses 20% of the time.... but winners are 2 points, losses are 5 points. If the percentages are correct it's profitable, but what about the streak of 3 or 4 losses in a row? (or only 1 or 2 wins in 7 or 8 trades)...

    Excel DDE and IB (2nd)

Prisma, Sorry i don't have the answer to your question, but i'm a fairly new self-taught VBA programmer and have set up some stuff to do with Excel and TWS. My next step in the learning curve is automating orders, would you mind pointing me in the right direction to start learning about...

    Excel Question

Try saving it as a .txt file, then open excel, and try to open the .txt file by using the OPEN command from the file header in excel. A "wizard" should pop up which will walk u thru what you're trying to accomplish.

Depth of ES and NQ changing Quicker on IB?

It appears that the dept of market is changing MUCH more rapidly today than usual. Is there a glitch somewhere, a new way of IB sending the datafeed, or just increased volatility?

    Lynx Capital Partners

Earlier in this thread (1st page, about 5 posts down or so) somebody mentioned a Hoboken office. Does anybody know if this was referring to Lynx, Andover, or some other firm. Does anybody know of any Hoboken (NJ) trading offices?

    E-Mini Point and Figure

I use PnF, but not candelsticks. I'm fairly new to short term trading and although i trade a little now, i'm still in the process of determining my exact "sytem" for what siganls i will take, and where my entry points should be.

Babak, Are you familiar with what the Bullish% measures? (i say this with respect, as i'm you are a moderator, and i'm just one of the common folk). If not, i'll give a BRIEF tutorial, and if you want more info, you can post or PM me, depending upon any other lurker's interest. Bullish...

    Bullish Percent Index ($BPXXXXXX)

This is the info as i know it (although it could be wrong): ChartCraft (New Rochelle, NY) is the creator of the sector bullish percent indexes. I think they differ slightly from StockCharts.com indexes due to the specific universe of stocks that make up the indexes. Has EXTENSIVE historical...

Can you clearly explain when to switch E-mini contract months?

Can somebody please clearly explain when it's time to switch trading months on the ES and NQ? I know it's a few days before option expiration, but i don't seem to grasp the full concept of what day is the correct day to change. Thanks.

Today's (8/16) Prints of 953 and 985 on NQ real?

Thanks, i knew about the data coming out, but just had never seen price jumps like that before (in both directions no less) so i didn't know if it was "real", as i wasn't there to see if the bids/offers actually moved as well. Thanks for replying and letting me know.

Today's (8/16) Prints of 953 and 985 on NQ real?

I walked away from my computer this morning during the first 1/2 hour so trading or so and when i came back it appeared that the NQ had hit a low of about 953 and shortly thereafter made a high of around 985 or so, all of this while the market was fairly quiet when and i left and when i...

    Sector/index composition

The BTK is NOT the same composition as the BBH (if that is indeed the symbol for the biotech holder product). The holder ETFs and the indexes you are likely thinking of are not the same... they may have some degree of correlation, but they are not the same.
