To determine a trend you must first draw a Sperendeo trendline. It's described in his first book. It is inflexible and precise. MTrader knows this.

Trendlines typically begin from the highest high or lowest low. The FTT doesn't have to begin from the highest high or the lowest low.

A channnel must start from a FTT. A trendline may start from a FTT or not.

Thank you Stepan. The problem has been significantly improved by deleting 'old channels' and keeping the amount of chartwork at a 'reasonable' level. If this stops working I will post as you suggested.
