Lots of ways to trade. I sold at 1336.25 which was 1 tick below the R2 and bought back at 1334.25. Please, I'm not posting to make anyone feel bad about any trades that didn't go their way today, just want to put those pivots trades out there as they are an easy way to buy/sell right at...

    Simple Profitable Method

Here's a sell that didn't work out, but only lost .80. So today I'm 1 for 2 and up $120-$11cm per contract. I thought I better post the loser's, too, so we don't think it's 100% LOL

    1) I'm using day session only data 2) 20 ema and 40 ema 3) MACD (3,10,16) These numbers look good enough and I'm used to them. See recent trade set-up. Trader 28, I'll use the money to "pop a few tubes" in your name this afternoon.

WTF is going on in the ER2????

You've got to remember: 1) Nearing end of quarter, many don't want to give back a fairly nice return on the indexes before their pay day (9/29). 2) There has been a re-allocation shift the past 3 days out of equities and into longer term bonds. 3) We are entering the worst 4 week period...

    Simple Profitable Method

Trader 28, could you please clarify? 1) What time do you start and end your chart? 2) Are you taking that opening trade where the signal is generated on the first bar of the day? Thanks for the ideas !!!!

Okay, I was thinking that a bunch of buy programs would show up as a lot of selling at the bid, indicating "selling" on the MD, but really meaningless because it is hedged and not a directional bias.

Question for 5 pillars: How does your delta handle program trading? ie: Today, you'll note that almost all tick extremes were on the plus side, indicating buy programs. When these happen you get selling of the spu's and buying of the cash. The volume at that point is not directional as...

I found it, October 15, 1998. Here's a blurb from a news story. "The US central bank, the Federal Reserve, has surprised the financial markets with another interest rate cut. In little more than a fortnight it has cut its rates twice, this time by another 0.25% to 5% Shares shot up...

I'd be careful with that thinking. I was short a bunch of e mini's back around 1997 or 1998 (can't remember exact date), the fed cut interest rates during market hours and the next tick was over 50 points higher. THAT'S 50 as in FIFTY, not .50. Of course, this probably won't happen...

I guess I'm just the opposite. When I first started out, I found myself trading as much for entertainment value as for money. After a while, the entertainment feature goes away and I found myself trading to make money only. When you start trading to "make money only" AND you find some...

Actually, it doesn't even need to be "head games". That's why Gary's strategy and many others are so nice. You don't spend a lot of useless energy thinking about things that either don't matter or are out of your control. As many of you know, one of my set-ups is buying the S2 or selling...

    IB Globex question, please

Found it, thanks to a nice ET member. Stops and Stop Limits DO NOT go to globex, thus are NOT working if IB goes down.

IB users: time to take a break

Sorry for not being clear, but I am talking about a STOP or a LIMIT order. Not a stop limit....not a trail stop...just a stop or a limit. Thanks in advance
