    TS Trailing stops

Hi chas, Well, I compared the code that you have with the SwingHigh code in TS2000i and it matches. I guess at this point, it depends on how the function is being used in a ShowMe study. I tried messing around with the swing high in a showme and wasn't getting anything. I've attached...

Bright Trading, Airplanes, & Gann Fans

Hi Don, I just read the piece on Eddie Franco in this month's AOPA Pilot magazine. Very nicely done! I must say, you guys travel in style. I've spent many an overnight parked at Executive Air there in Las Vegas while "enjoying the sights and games of LAS." With all the traveling the...

    Systematic Performance Stats

These are impressive charts as well as a pretty capable looking tester! I've looked at the demos of NeoTicker, AmiBroker, and Wealth Lab to make comparisons. (I'm using TS2000i for trading and testing currently). If you had the time, could you create a thread under Software and describe...

    TS Trailing stops

Hi chas, Sorry for the delay in my looking at this. I haven't forgotten or dropped it. I should be able to get to work with it in the next few days.

    TS Trailing stops

Hi chas, Something's wrong with the picture. Attached is an INTC daily with Pivot High and Pivot Low plotted (TS2000i), using 5,3 as you did. I am assuming that you are suggesting there's a problem in your chart that you posted. If you are comfortable showing the code which generated your...

    EasyLanguage Question

I completely agree with TriPack. I subscribe to numerous mail lists which generate probably 400-500 messages a day in total, and I think the "signal to noise ratio" on the Omega list is better than most. Yes, there are rants and listmembers can get crabby. But the quality of many of the posts...

riskless, Thanks for the info. This is very useful. Can you tell me who clears your customers' trades? Thanks!

    spread trading

Since you've already got the QLink and QCharts setup, why don't you take that synthetic price series that you've created from the spread, export it to ASCII, and test it just like you'd test any other time series in the software of your choice. Try different BB levels and evaluate the Maximum...

    tools when day-trading the minis?

No. A modification is treated just like a new order and you are reset in the queue. The reason that you are seeing those trades go off at your limit then fall away without your order getting filled is that you were further back in the queue. (It's based on the time the order was...

Do you want to allow Qcharts.exe to act as a server?

bungrider, You've already gotten the answer about "why" it wants to act like a server, so here's a little bit more background info. Several versions ago of the continuum client for QCharts, many users (myself included) were getting frequent disconnects, then failures in the automatic...

    Scalping the markets

The NQ trades in 1/2 points. Each point is worth $20, so a tick is $10. The ES trades in 1/4 points. Each point is worth $50, so a tick is worth $12.50.

    Don's Openings Pt. 2

Hi Don, I regret to say, "been there, tried that" to no avail. You'll probably be hooked up to a wireless telemetry module so that they can monitor you at a central station using receivers throughout the hallway. Heck, they won't even let you use cell phones...as bad as being on an airplane...

    IB connection problems AGAIN

larrybf, Who's your broker? (Public or PM is fine.) I've used JTrader before, and I can't say it was any better or any worse for connectivity issues.

    Futures Charts Using IB's Data?

llljjj, The IB data feed updates once every second using a sampling algorithm. It is not a tick by tick feed. So, if you are taking that feed and constructing charts, be aware that you will see some differences in highs and lows for each bar, especially in lower timeframes.

    IB connection problems AGAIN

I'm on 762.1. The latest bulletin says that the standalone version's issues are now solved, they're working on the web-based version. I haven't had a disconnect in quite a while. It said something to the effect of a new version of the TWS, but I haven't downloaded anything new. Perhaps...

    IB connection problems AGAIN

Tech Analysis, I've been getting logged off all morning. The trace route (gw1.ibllc.com) is clear, thus not likely an ISP problem. IB's bulletin acknowledged the problem, and it said to logon using the web version of TWS. I tried that and still getting logged off. I'm back to the...

    Backtesting software

Rafael, Do consider that there is only a few weeks of historical data available through TS6, and you cannot use it on other data. This is not even close to enough data to do any reliable backtesting. Even if you want to test strategies on 1 min data that trade every five bars, well...
