    Day Trading under $25k...

Yes there are many ways to get around the PDT rule, and prop firms are one of them. Its not the exams, its that a lot of traders don't want to deal with props, and some have very good reasons. That said, Props have their role, and are an excellent idea for those, particularly American...

    Day Trading under $25k...

I mentor a young BBA graduate. He doesn't have enough cash to daytrade equities, yet. In the meantime he is working to save his US 25K and training on a real time simulator each day when NY opens. He is taking multiple courses to enhance his knowledge of markets and finance. And he's got a...

    Day Trading under $25k...

The commission rates are way too high with your suggested broker, All Day Traders. Your cost with IB for buying 100 shares of XYZ is $1 commission. With this firm it is over 8 times as much. $7 minimum, + "$1 Software fee" + ECN + + . With deepest respect, you'll lose your ass. Caveat Emptor.

    Remote Prop Trading in Canada

I have never traded at Bright, but I do know from numerous personal contacts that Bright has a good reputation in British Columbia. Slightly off topic but... I have a US address but spend less than 15 days per year in the US, and trade with my US account from wherever I am. I file a US tax...

    Any Christian Traders?

I would be a complete dud as a Christian. I like my sins a little too much. For example my weakness for married women. Having admitted one of my failings, let me say this: Based on what I have read in this thread I would MUCH prefer the company of Christians to that of atheists. I...

"the daytrader is dead" - AMTD CEO

Don't be too hard on him, in the global sense, the species (daytraders) is much closer to extinction than at any time in the last ten years. I remember in 2000 my chiropractor begged me to tell him how to daytrade, ditto for my dentist, barber, gardener, a carpenter I hired, my...

    Exploring a career in 'Trading'

NET sounds like a nice guy and has lots of good advice, but as he tells us, so far he has lost money. Indahook sounds like a nice guy but you won't get a dialougue going with Geezer, he posts once in 50 days and you post three times a day. I know Geezer, trained under him before he...

    Profitable Shorting?

Does Shortologist trade more than one stock? Some short specialists know their stock so well that they never use TA and a minimum of charts. In school we called it the Meteorologist method of trading, always looking out the window to see what is happening, not staring at Bollinger Bands...

    Exploring a career in 'Trading'

It is interesting that your family's investment advisor for three decades gave you the brush off. Could that be a sign that you haven't completed your education and he thinks you should? Just guessing. It is hard to give advice to a prospective trader if you don't know their educational...
