Will you stay with Cyber/Schwab if they only offer per trade pricing?

yes but the commissions column doesn't total up the commissions for you...plus it has a million older trades that hasn't cleared...but wouldn't apply to your current daily commissions. I called in to CS and they confirmed that they do not total up daily commissions anywhere. Completely absurd.

Will you stay with Cyber/Schwab if they only offer per trade pricing?

anyone find out how where total daily commissions are listed? I know that your account history shows your commissions for each trade....but if you have a ton of trades it's not very convenient to sit down and add it all up everyday. It would be hard to believe that a broker as large as...

Will you stay with Cyber/Schwab if they only offer per trade pricing?

Old positions still aren't cleared out today even though I was told it would be. And where is the commissions I generated today? Is that what (margin balance) is? I filled out a application to IB today...will probably switch over completely by the end of the month.

Will you stay with Cyber/Schwab if they only offer per trade pricing?

AAA....aaaah....I saw that but I thought it related to something else. Tried it...and yes it does cancel the way Cybertrader had set up in the past. Thanks!

Will you stay with Cyber/Schwab if they only offer per trade pricing?

AAA....if you can point me to where I can select the option to apply "Cxl All" to all stocks I would appreciate it...can't find it. I asked Schwab CS via "Live Help"...and they couldn't give me an answer....only that they'll "look into it". As it is...I hate to constantly check to see if I...

CeNY supposedly they are going to fix that by tomorrow. I wouldn't bet my lunch on it though.

Will you stay with Cyber/Schwab if they only offer per trade pricing?

A few other things to note: 1. when you place a new order....your old order in that particular stock isn't automatically cancelled. I inadvertently bought/shorted more stock than I wanted because I didn't realize this. 2. The "Cxl All" button in the trading window doesn't cancel all...

Will you stay with Cyber/Schwab if they only offer per trade pricing?

and getting help from Live Help or even on the phone this morning was a joke. I understand if there were a few minor issues with the platform after the transfer...but to be unable to get buying power listed correctly, or clear out old nonexistent positions is unexcusable. If this doesn't...

    Odd-Lot orders NOT wanted!!

that's what I meant. I will only trade odd-lots with Nasdaq from now on. Don't trade NYSE stocks enough for it to be worth the headache to deal with crap like this.

    Odd-Lot orders NOT wanted!!

I think it might be that certain specialist, ie Goldman (GS), BZH, are more intolerant than others. As I have said, I have occasionally traded odd-lots for years with no problems until this week. Since Nasdaq stocks don't have specialists...I will just avoid odd-lots for NYSE stocks.

    Odd-Lot orders NOT wanted!!

Automate...so are you still trading the same way or are you adapting in some other way? If you're trading the same way...are they continually sending you new warnings? My broker Cybertrader warned me that if I got more warnings...I would be subject to order-entry restrictions...which I...

    Odd-Lot orders NOT wanted!!

Thanks for the reply Strategery. That explanation makes a lot more sense than the crap Cybertrader is trying to feed me. Hope you're right about the rule going away soon.

    Odd-Lot orders NOT wanted!!

I'm not blaming my broker. It explicitly said in the email that it was the NYSE/ARCA/AMEX issue. What I don't understand it why they don't just prohibit odd-lots if they don't want it ala the OIH. If you attempt to enter an odd-lot order for the OIH..it just tells you that you odd-lot orders...

    Odd-Lot orders NOT wanted!!

thanks for the reply rayl. I can understand why they would impose a rule on brokers or big institutions that try to hide big orders by unbundling big orders into small ones. But for a small individual trader...what could possibly be the harm? The stock they told me I broke this rule in was GS...

    Odd-Lot orders NOT wanted!!

I just received an email from Cybertrader that states: "Please be aware that the NYSE & AMEX prohibit the unbundling of ARCA/NYSE/AMEX Listed round lots for the purpose of entering odd-lots. This notification is to inform you that your account xxxxxxxx exhibited this behavior on 08/01/2007...

Can't short to save my life

It changes day by day. Great thing about Cybertrader...I don't know if it's the case with other brokers....but the amount of stock that is available to borrow is listed over the name of the stock in the trade console...and is updated on the fly. Usually the more liquid names have 50,000...

Can't short to save my life

You just need a different broker. Cybertrader has tons of FXI to short. NYX is also available most of the time. Cybertrader is owned by Charles Schwab. I think the bigger brokers usually have more stocks available to borrow.

Coping with Depression following a major drawdown.

I would definitely take a little break. The last thing you want to do is to trade with the mindset you're currently in. You would probably trade more aggressively to try to make back your losses and just dig yourself into a bigger hole. You need to also realize that even the great traders...

I Blew Up - What Now?

If you go with option 1...you will probably need to make at least 20% just to break even with the interest you're going to be paying. Not the best risk/reward.

    Lost From Top

Since you're a beginning trader...keep your goals small. Your first goal should be just to consistently make good trades....not a specific dollar amount. If you make good trades the money will follow. As your account grows...you should be able to trade bigger yet keep your trades the same...
