Average True Range at multi-year lows

If you wanted volatility why not trade oil, euro, or the long bond even....quite a bit of volatility there over the last 6 months. No reason to hang around where your system(s) don't play well.

    Eurex to launch FX futures!?

Thanks for the Brent Crude info. I was totally unaware that IB had that contract -- not that that says much. :) Do many people spread the Brent contract against the QM (WTI I think)?

    ColdFusion error on front page

I get this one intermittently with ET -- not other sites though. I always run the latest version of Firefox. It clears by itself after a day or so and in the interim I use IE if I have to. No one has really given me a satisfactory answer for the problem yet but heh...wth

Margin Call on an IB IRA account (Need Suggestions)

That is a incredibly ugly story... Just to be sure, I'd check to make sure it was the clearing house that exercised your options. There was another story posted here about IB claiming NASDAQ busted a trade when in fact it was IB that --wrongly -- did so. Unfortunately, IB states the...

    t-notes today

You've got oil cracking along as well -- inflationary... It also may be that people are still unwinding the long side idea that the Fed is "almost" done...

    Euro FX Short Strangle

What were the delta's like? Seems like a "small" return dollarwise for a lot of potential risk if the Euro blows chunks one way or another... But I guess that's what writing strangles is all about..

    SPX Credit Spread Trader

What was the weighted average margin capital required over the period? Seems like it was in excess of $90K but probably less than $150K. This would indicate something like a 10% return -- using an average...Is that close?

Toyota chief fears GM, Ford demise

As many have said, All they have to do is provide additional value and people will pay up. Fuel efficiency is the most obvious way to go as the benefit is immediate to the end user and doesn't actually shift the demand curve by lengthening the life of the vehicle. Of course, if they want...

Toyota chief fears GM, Ford demise

For example, If the average car is leased for 36K miles then if you can increase fuel efficiency by $.03/gallon you could cover the "presumed" health care costs and benefit the environment at the same time. That's well less than the hybrids that GM didn't bother to develop will do -- and...

Toyota chief fears GM, Ford demise

I'd expect kerkorian to tender for control, spin off the finance arm, dump the pension liabilities on the PBGC, and sell or merge the car company.
