    Are MM's quotes computer driven?

It's called a relative order. you can do (almost) the same thing yourself with IB. Nothing unique about this.

    Remaining Emotionless While Trading?

Mizer, I think it's pretty impossible not to be emotional when you start out - like for at least the first year. It's just part of it - you're learning, trying to figure out if trading really works for you, etc, no matter how profitable you may be. After a full year or so of consistent...

    Eye Fatigue

I've had it bad. vision has gone white a couple times. Opthamologist tells me is was something called a retinal migrane. Ugh! All I know to do is turn down the brightness and contrast on my monitors. I think it's the worst during allergy season.

    Health Insurance

I found insurance for the self employed much cheaper than my old group plan. Blue Cross, with tons of providers and very favorable terms for about $160/month.

    Jesse Livermore

A common misperception is that livermore was broke when he blew his head off. He was not. In fact, he was worth at least several million dollars at the time. This was 75 years ago and let's not forget the guy started with something like 30 bucks that his mother gave him b/f he ran away. He had...

    Playboy's Cybergirl and Citigroup's CEO

"the ax" is a term for research analysts as well. generally, it is which ever analyst is the "best" on any given stock or industry. in the example above Jack Grubman was definately the ax on a number of different stocks as well as the telecom industry.

It means you're probably fun to get a beer with...my personal opinion is that "ntj" is usually a good combination for a trader as well.

    Trader Myers-Briggs Personality Type

I'm an intj, my trading partner is an infj (rarest type) I've studied myers-briggs for awhile now and would guess most "s" types wouldn't become traders in the first place, either for themselves or for a large institution.

IB TWS for Mac - Has anyone tried

Update - for anyone who cares...I bot a mac laptop, IB and nearly everything else I use works just fine. However, there's one "mission critical" service I use that doesn't , so I had to stick with Dell for my new office. Also, the Dell was about half-price as compared to the Mac's. I still love...

Seems to be alot of ex/current Engineers in trading

PS I'm an EE and it is not true that all Engineers are bad traders. [/B] It seems many Engineers hate their jobs and are willing to take a shot at trading as an alternative. I was a sell-side analyst and hated my job, so I took a shot (haven't regreted it yet). My question is what would make...

I trade at SBUX when traveling/on vacation. Besides the pain in the ass of trading with one screen on a laptop, never had a problem...knocking on simulated wood.
