    Warren and Me

But processed foods help keep agrabiz and chemical company profits up, as well as poisoning the population, which helps pharma buy creating an endless supply of customers, many on the taxpayers dime, to use thier drugs to counteract the effects of processed food. It's sort of a death spiral at...

85% of retail traders short S&P

Impressive discipline and patience. Assuming you were short the end of Dec, I would have covered around 2/18 when the indexes were showing real signs of of impulsing out of the lows. I can handle 2-5 day swings, but don't have the account size to swing the weekly patterns.

85% of retail traders short S&P

Yeah, her cronies did an excellent job of jaw boning it down on Monday. Sure looked like a false break up 30 mins after the open.

Yellen bowed to wallstreet yet again today with super dovish talk to keep the bull market going....

I wonder if the Board of Governors bought their call options before the close yesterday, or this morning.

The other good thing is you usually find out really quick if you are right or wrong. No waiting around 3 hrs for a move to complete. But ,that can be a double edged sword.

Technical Analysis does not work, never did, never will

Not angry a bit. But you are the pigeon in brisvegas post. I used to think only 2 things were certain, death and taxes. We can add one more. lylec305 is a real tool

Technical Analysis does not work, never did, never will

Why is it that the Anti-TA posters always sound like angry religious fundamentalists? In the words of the immortal Humpty Hump.... Doowutchyalike

What is Technical Analysis? Why does it work?

You can really see this on the US overnight. Price moves for seemingly random reasons. Until you look closer and it is just the bots sweeping up the tight stops of traders.

What is Technical Analysis? Why does it work?

I like to think of it as multiple time frames, each one flowing into the next. Different players on each time frame. Watch for the clues of which one is in control. On the indexes I believe the weekly is still driving it.

What is Technical Analysis? Why does it work?

Keeping the spirit of Don Quixote alive. Seriously, find another windmill to tilt at.

What is Technical Analysis? Why does it work?

TA is many things to many people. If used properly, it can help uncover the “Best of the Best” trade entries to take. I use Fib levels for support and resistance and extensions for targets in the context of wave form analysis (not Elliott Wave). I combine this with a couple of moving averages...

    Institutional Traders vs. Private Investors

For futures, sometimes you can get clues from the T&S, but if you are only looking for say 20+ contract orders on the NQ, you may miss the 30 that get iceberged in 1-2 at a time. Watching the complete T&S can *sometimes* give you an idea.

Spot the Bear. Weekly chart analysis of S&P500

Didn't say I was going to try to get the exact high :) That is a fools game. I have noticed two things in this rally. The big money in options has been rotating sectors quite a bit. That helps keeping the indexes moving higher. The other thing is that people have been buying very unsexy...

Spot the Bear. Weekly chart analysis of S&P500

I don't make a habit of posting or making calls. Very little to be gained doing either:) I mostly interact with other traders I know via Skype and a private message board. ET is fun to pick through for the occasional nuggets. Trading is a lot like science or trouble shooting complex computer...

Spot the Bear. Weekly chart analysis of S&P500

Based on your nick, I can see where your market sentiment is. It is based on my myself and my brothers analysis. I have nothing invested in the number, it happens or it doesn't. Either way I will trade what I see. And right now what I see is the bears getting their nuts cut off with a dull...

Spot the Bear. Weekly chart analysis of S&P500

I think we see 2450-2490 in the next 18 months or even by the fall of 2016. Corresponds to 245-249 SPY, then I think the party is over and it gets cut in half. But...who really knows for sure :)

You should take a look. It trends nicely and moves better than the ES most days. At $20 a point you need to use more contracts, but it allows for great scale in/out opportunities on good trend days. Today was a nice 38 point move that started right before the open if you held it all day...

    Is Tim Cook A Traitor?

@AAAintheBeltway This issue is all about the government wanting a legal precedent, not about this phone. The NSA can probably crack the encryption today. So why is the DOJ jumping on Apple with both feet? A legal precedent so they can further erode everyones rights. Apple is right to give...
