    Don's Openings Pt. 2

I asked this when I went to Echotrade's seminar. You can put in an order on the open, but you can't use an opening only order. I believe the problem is that you might get filled after the open, and that fill may occur as the stock is going in the wrong direction.

    Redibook shorts in afterhours

I've had the same experience. It is my understanding that what you were told is correct; for some reason on NYSE stocks the Redibook requires an uptick, and your order will be changed to a penny over the closing price.

Robert, is this the system that Jeff discussed at the seminar? If so, has it been profitable so far?

    level II

Stockheart I don't know if you've been lurking around this board for a while, but one of the big issues here is people using this site to spam their services. Whenever a newer member, such as yourself (this was your first post) mentions a product or website, the spam question obviously...

    Self Clearing Firms

There was a pro firm doing a presentation in my city a few weeks ago. The guy presenting said that the firm could cut their commissions in half, in half again, and once more in half, and still make money. The firm only charges a penny per share, so that would come out to 1/8 of a penny per...

    Home Page Problem

Baron This concerns that file folder icon next to threads that represent new or unread messages. When you first go to the home page, there are usually icons next to several supposedly unread threads/posts that actually have been read. To demonstrate what I'm talking about, go to the home...

New IB policy for pro accts...

If you don't use your license, ie trade with a pro firm in your case, it will expire over time. I believe it is 3 years. During that time, I believe you will still be considered a pro trader and have to pay pro fees.

Level II quotes and the number of bids and asks for each ECN/MM

Most of the independent data providers (eSignal, QQL, QCharts, etc) only give you one level for each ECN. If you want entire books, you normally have to get that through your broker. Most brokers provide the ISLD book; there are some, like REDI brokers, that show you ARCA, ISLD and REDI books.

    MM/SP knows Day Traders????????

I really don't know exactly how non-daytrading firms route orders, but my guess is that you're only getting filled when it's convenient to those who are responsible for filling your order. Let's say you want to buy a stock, and let's assume that we have ESP and know that that stock is about...

    Super Montage..

I don't know about everyone else, but the biggest problem I have in trading is trying to get an execution in a fragmented market. Especially if the market is moving fast, it's very difficult. Wouldn't it be great if you could just specify you wanted to buy 1000 shares at x price, without...

New IB policy for pro accts...

If you are a pro, are you allowed to choose not to receive NYSE quotes from IB? In other words, can you elect to receive and trading only NASDAQ? I emailed IB "help" about this 4 times, and no response.

    Afterhours charting...

Quciken quotes, eSignal, Real Tick all have it. The cheapest is Quicken. I think you can get by on like $30/mo for quotes and charting. It's more like $40-$50 if you want 1-minute charts.
