I can't speak to other markets as I haven't traded them in awhile but the ES daily range is pretty good. There are consolidation days (which are tradable) but there have always been consolidation days. Really not much has changed through the years. Yeah, it's a little more challenging but you...

We have all struggled early on with losses and have looked at analytics for the answer. "My wave count is off....maybe Gann square outs are the answer....I need more filters....I need to develop proprietary oscillators or MA's..." And there is "I need to develop more discipline". Discipline is a...

Emotions are part of the human condition and cannot be removed save by a lobotomy or brain lesion. What one has to do is learn to recognize emotions as they arise and not let them sway you from your plan. It's a learned response that fortunately does not require any soul selling. There are those...

I have nothing to prove nor anyone to convince. What some jackoffs in a forum think is totally irrelevant There are many newbies and struggling traders who come to this forum for guidance and direction and are instead overwhelmed with negativity and arrogance The purpose of my post was to let...

It's a good thing we independent day traders who have made a living for years don't know this. It would be a tough pill to swallow to know it's all been an illusion.

Financial Transaction Tax and the future of HFT

Speculators of all sizes make markets and provide liquidity. In doing so, they absorb risk, benefiting more conservative market participants such as investors and hedgers. By providing liquidity and making markets and absorbing risk, they (we) have a right to make a profit. There is nothing...

YouTube channels that actually teach useful information?

Yes, mark Douglas and Bret Steenbarger for psychology. Raschke is pricey but may still have her 3 day trial for $10 from which you can download a lot of their material (good stuff). lbr.com

YouTube channels that actually teach useful information?

You want to see as they unfold but many platforms will allow you do do a rewind of the days action for viewing later and weekends. I have traded a number of markets but have become a one trick pony with the ES (S&P 500 emini futures contract), it's a good one to watch and trades upwards of a...

YouTube channels that actually teach useful information?

Yes, I would recommend reading a couple of books first to understand the vernacular and technical nuts and bolts. A good primer is John Murphy's Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets. Your time frame(s) can be decided later, signals are signals. Don't be in a hurry, if you are successful...

Yeah, I prefer the liquidity. Used to trade the Russell...thin can be tough on the digestion.

    When does ES rollover?

As a daytrader, I wait for the majority of the volume to shift to the front month...often Friday.

Separate computer and monitor for browsing, multiple monitors with charts and execution on another. I average about 6 signals per day so plenty of time waiting for signal and then waiting for a trade to eventuate. It's not a complicated deal.
