    Should Brandon Stay or Go

Brandon I see no reason for you to go. In all of my interactions on Elitetrader, including a couple of your online seminars, I do not recall that you hyped your website to the point of being obnoxious. For what it is worth, in my opinion you have offered some great insights into how to make...

    Holding (option) positions overnight

Anticipation of news related to the market, the sector to which your stock belongs and news specific to your stock should be taken into account when considering whether to hold a short term position overnight. For example, you would not want to hold calls overnight if you anticipated an...

    related information trading

In my opinion news is worth paying attention to when planning a trade. However, where traders err is by interpreting the news instead of letting the market interpret the news for them. Case in point; the recent weapons inspector capitulation from Iraq. Within 30 minutes of the open the dow had...

    my greatest mistake

Two trading blunders come to mind. The first was listening to my broker tell me that Motorola was not a $36 stock. In a way, he was right since MOT is now trading between $10-$14. When I first got into short term trading, I was watching the QQQ's trade between $45-$50. On a Friday I decided...

    George Fontanills

Thank you all for taking the time to respond. It appears that I would do better to trade the money that I would otherwise spend to gain the sage wisdom of this expert. Thanks again all!

    George Fontanills

Does anybody out there know anything about this self-styled options expert? I am always looking for an edge, whether it's trading stocks or options and just wondered if George's expert opinion was worth pursuing.

    Fed cut rate???

Another factor is that all the money center banks and big brokerages have been whining for a rate cut. The Fed never likes to be told what to do. Also, if rates are cut, the banks will not pass that on to the consumer. The fed will stand pat.

CNBC Europe & Bloomberg via Astra Satellite

I use Dish Network (DBS) to get both CNBC and Bloomberg. Service has been excellent but one thing I would caution. Extreme weather conditions such as heavy snow (rare in Texas) or rain will kill your satellite signal. The receiver will continuously attempt to resync the signal but until the...

Sorting out for good values WMB...

I understand that they were denied refinancing of an unsecured revolving line of credit today. That being the case, it will probably be more difficult for them to maintain ongoing operations. This is not to say that WMB will just fold, just that their ability to maintain physical plant, etc on a...

    indicator showcase

I've been keeping tabs on the tick and the trin as noted on the CNBC ticker to try to anticipate general market action. Noting that the action of the trin was different today than the preceding couple of days actually helped me get out of some MRK puts before I got killed too badly.

    Best or Worst Trades Ever

My broker called me a month or so ago telling me how he had just bought some Sept OEX 640 calls. I decided to pass on this well thought out recommendation, much to my delight. I have learned that sometimes making a decision that keeps you from losing money is almost as good as making money...
