A very good site. Particularly the Knowledge Lab, as well as the traders' encyclopedia they're putting together.

Since you keep posting it in reply to my responses, I suggest that the "truth" of which you are so fond lies elsewhere. In any case, my posts also stand. Have a nice Christian day.

There's no need to keep posting the link. I've read it. What part of "I found value in the books" are you having trouble understanding?

As I said, I found value in the books. Whether you or anyone else did is immaterial. I personally found Farley's book to be drek, but others think it's just great. Each to his own.

Vehement? I found value in the books and recommend them. If that is a problem for you, then I suppose that is a cross that you'll just have to bear. As for the "idiot" part, if you like.

Yes, you found us out. It's all a vast conspiracy. Maccaboy, I strongly suggest that you open up a journal and start from the beginning. At least there you will have some protection from flamefests and you are far more likely to receive pertinent comments and suggestions. Believe it or not...

I don't do chatrooms. But I have recommended Vad's work and will continue to do so. If that meets with your disapproval, I guess I'll just have to find some way to sleep nights.

With 7K+ posts, I should think you already have. Several times over. It is, of course, up to the individual trader to determine "truth" for himself rather than take somebody else's word for it. There are reviews of Vad's books on Amazon, and not all of them are favorable. One can also obtain...

Yes, giving money back to dissatisfied customers is indeed clever. We should stamp out this insidious practice immediately.

Albert, you're wasting your time. Any author who bothers to defend himself on this site is also wasting his time. I found both of Vad's books to be well worth the cost, and he offers a refund to anyone who doesn't think so. What more can one want?

So you're interested in stocks? If so, are you interested in all stocks? Nasdaq stocks? NYSE stocks? Big-cap stocks? Small cap? Are you looking for something that's highly volatile? That is thinly-traded? Heavily traded? Do you have any experience with stocks at all, i.e., over periods of...

CANSLIM has little to do with trading since it combines fundamental and technical analysis. You can modify it into a purely technical approach, but what would be the point? What exactly is it about trading that you want to know?

We'll have to disagree on RSO. It's not a book designed to teach anybody to trade; it's a reminiscence. In any case, these threads invariably fail to ask the beginner just what it is he wants to know. Instead, everyone makes suggestions on what they think he ought to know, without even...

    Trader Vic's Trendline

The highest high is the highest high only in retrospect. Drawing a trendline in retrospect in strict adherence to the rules often means -- as in this case -- leaving the trend entirely in order to draw a "legitimate" line. Drawing the trendline in real time requires several lines in advance...

    Funds using TA

There may not be much point in the investigation since the results would say little or nothing about the approach but rather the talent/competence of whoever was implementing the approach, unless of course the system was entirely automatic and required no human intervention whatsoever.

Interesting that Kevin should find fault with Vad's book because Vad devotes part of it to personal experiences, yet Kevin recommends RSO, which is devoted to personal experiences from front to back.
