Why do We Make Trading so Difficult?

It's unlikely that you're going to get responses that will be of much help unless you explain your "plan for reversals". The problem is very likely with your plan, not with discipline (though it could be both). If your plan has problems, then your unconscious is likely telling you not to follow it.

Price Action. Please clarify something for me

    1. Moving averages are moving trendlines. Hence they are different forms of the same thing. If used to verify what you think you see in terms of trend or trendlessness, they are not "indicators" in the usual sense of the term, any more than a barometer is an indicator of the weather you are...

    Timeframe for support and resistance

S/R have nothing to do with time. They have to do with tests. If a given price is tested repeatedly on the downside and holds, it becomes support. The opposite is true for resistance. The fact that price simply touches a point and recoils does not imply support or resistance at all...

    The Real Secret To Trading

Few people will. They complain about the rich being "tight", but they never understand that if the rich weren't at least frugal, they wouldn't be rich. Which is why lottery winners rarely hang on to their winnings.

A question to people that don't "believe" in TA

Technical analysis is called technical analysis to distinguish it from fundamental analysis. And just as there are many different forms of "fundamental" analysis, so there are many different forms of technical analysis. Unfortunately, TA has become equated with indicators over the past thirty...

Best indicators to guess tops/bottoms; determine overbought/oversold areas

It's not an indicator. It's simply data, like price. Volume of advancers. Volume of decliners. As for experience, I can recall only two false signals since 1990 (Nasdaq data before then is sketchy).

Best indicators to guess tops/bottoms; determine overbought/oversold areas

You need only two, and they aren't "indicators" as the term is generally used. The first is the difference between volume of advancers and volume of decliners. The second is new highs and new lows. These are what professionals look at but novices rarely (as in practically never) look at. And...

Is trading the ES easier than stocks?

B1S2, just leave it. Those of us who trade futures understand you perfectly, but there is always that contingent that has to start something. That's ET. --LC

    Cheapest real-time charts?

I'm not a fan of QT either (I use Sierra). However, since both are so cheap, there's nothing to stop you from test-driving both and making up your own mind. --LC

POLL - Futures: How do you determine the trend?

You had had my support, CD, but you're starting to act like a real jerk. Perhaps this is where you belong after all.

    the basic flaws in TA

No, you're not. But so many of us have gone well past the point of being tired of these same old arguments. Those whose lives are centered on message boards continue. As for the rest, I'm sure I speak for at least some of them when I suggest that either "traders" will get it or they won't. And...

POLL - Futures: How do you determine the trend?

So now we cycle into the complaints about how traders never "share". Gee, I wonder why . . . ET is as predictable as the tides.

    the basic flaws in TA

But they still don't get it, which is why you have to keep going over it again and again until it gets so boring that you can't go over it one more time . . .

POLL - Futures: How do you determine the trend?

There's hardly anything new about self-promotion on ET. It's just the way things are. And have been. And will be.

POLL - Futures: How do you determine the trend?

True. Given the extreme contraction in volatility and range, I've had to give up time and even ticks, at least for the time being (even '94 wasn't this bad). And anyone trading by candlesticks gets a whole new view of things when trading volume bars, e.g., "engulfing" candles.
