    Still amazed by the basics

Yes, you're right Vhehn. TA becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Fibonacci, on the other hand, is nature-based and permeates through everything we do in life. Anyway, most traders still fail to make profits, not due to lack of TA skills, but rather due to lack of discipline.

    Still amazed by the basics

The Nasdaq also showed relative weakness to the S&P going into Thursday's close, not to mention the fact that the SOX could not even get out of its own way. With the SOX not leading yesterday afternoon's rally, I would be surprised if the Naz goes anywhere today. Just my 2 cents. . .

    Still amazed by the basics

Edilgone, I think we may be looking at different time frames. In the intermediate term (several weeks), I agree with you that we probably go higher. I was just referring to the market taking a break during the next one to two days. But I could easily be wrong about that too.

    Still amazed by the basics

Even though I have been studying technical analysis for many years, the basics still amaze me sometimes. For example, the high of the COMPX today was 1426.76, which is almost exactly the same as the high of July 17, which was 1426.28. Almost a perfect double top today! Funny how that works. ...

    Why actively trade ETFs?

I trade ETFs with my own real, live $$ every day of the week and I am really sold on it. I am looking for others who feel the same and want to discuss with them. There is not much information on short-term trading of ETFs on the web, so I am seeking others with a similar interest. Sorry if it...

Ideal position size for best risk/reward ratio

I would like to discuss what other traders do in order to adjust their position size based upon the price/beta of the position. It seems like traders talk so much about this trade or that trade, but nobody ever seems concerned with how big of a position to carry. The longer I am in this...

    Why actively trade ETFs?

There are presently 257 ETFs trading worldwide, although American traders do not have access to all of them. The American Stock Exchange (Amex) is the pioneer of the ETF, responsible for bringing the first domestic product to market in 1993. Leading the industry in ETF listings, the Amex lists...

    Why actively trade ETFs?

Since I have converted from trading exclusively stocks to ETFs during the past six months, I wanted to share some insight as to why I like swing trading them because there are so many benefits! Reduced risk of obliteration! Do you ever wonder if you are going to wake up in the morning and...
