look at the volume....high volume stocks normally have high volume options....the higher the volume the more likely you will get a "good" fill, i.e. mid price or better. On options with smaller volume, leave a bid or offer out there for a little while...but you will probably end up just paying...

News last night was that MS was considering merging with a "well capitalized bank".....to avoid the fate of LEH, et. al.

too busy trading to post...but I'm off now....but yes...my SDS calls are showing me some love! bought the 65's at 2.5....took some heat early on, but now they are doing great.....other than that though, all my other positions are day trades or spreads....so this is just another day....

sorry for posting so late today guys...had some errands to run. Today started great...but something in me snapped this afternoon and I got cocky...and simply made HORRIBLE trades...I should have just taken my morning profits and ran....up 7.2 pts in the morning...just .8 shy of my daily...

the newer Prophet charts have this capability...although I think it just brings up a list of symbols fitting the pattern/other criteria you select....so not in alert style but does bring up stocks fitting certain technical patterns (wedge, channel, triangle, etc) from what I understand

corn will likely follow the other commodities lower...as far as the grains go....KC wheat has been the leader lower, with corn in the middle and beans holding up the best..... pre-market showing corn right around 560....this is minor support...could chop around.....ultimately will follow...

Short day for me today but a good one! +8.1 pts on ER2. I want to thank TXGrillGuy for reminding me to plot fib levels....one of those things I knew...but ultimately had to be reminded of!! It kept me in today and allowed me to hit my daily profit goal in the first 2 hrs of trading...

Tex, Nice chart and nice job! I won't foul ppl's minds by posting my ER2 chart from today....after commision I lost one tick on the day...couldn't ever bring myself to go long for very long...despite all of the lower highs...oh well...got the weekend to clear my head and get back at it...

My chart from today Total +4.2 pts....but today's trading quality is not reflected in that number....I simply had a few REALLY BAD trades (note #3 for impatience and #1 for trading the first 15min....both against my rules)....I'm lucky I scraped out some profit today.... Going to cut size...

BoyBrutus, The reason I don't trade the ER2 right in front of big news is the volatility....only took one time of that horse blowing a full POINT through my stop for me to learn that.....now as soon as the news is released I do go back to trading...usually just wait a couple minutes....also...

looking at the chart...PA would have taken you out once...and you would have made a second long trade and gotten out at market close....I sent you a PM btw....
