bean inventories were bearish. Wheat was slightly bullish, but it has other fundamental worries to contend with. I am thinking beans will see a bounce though, as harvest pressure begins to subside. Also, with fertilizer prices as high as they are, the bean/corn acre war will probably begin...

even with the heavy selling today...I'm taking this opportunity to buy the Nov. beans today. Bought in a range from 1160-1165 on the nearby.

haven't looked at those spreads, but the long Dec. Live / Short Nov. Feeder spread has been working well since the first week in September

JW, I always used the range of the first 15min. of trading....not sure what the "exact" definition is though....I don't use OR that much, so I'm probably not the one to ask. -traderTX

caroy: Not sure how much size you have to trade to get a floor trader on the phone all of the time, but I can talk to them when the mkt is slow, and I don't generally put on that great of size at all.

drycleaner.... with the current broker I use, I can call them and, if the market isn't busy, they can put me in touch with one of their guys on the floor. Got to talk to him today, and thats what he told me. Also, I think you can get the info off the net at end of day, but not sure...

Monty, why not just pull up a correlation indicator? I think prophet charts have them, so I would bet other packages would too....I've seen them before....they just track correlation to the SPX and give you a %....you can sort through the stocks and week out all but the ones that say, have an...

yes...spread trading would greatly reduce both your risk and the amount of capital put forward. Recently there was a NICE spread on Dec/March cotton, and just yesterday I sold the Dec/Feb lean hog spread...hoping it works as nice too. Margin requirements also much lower...it took me 425...

Piezoe: I'm with YOU!! I LOVED the ER2....I did try the TF this week for one day....made money but sheesh! 10 times as hard as the old ER2....I dumped a 5 lot out there and the mkt immediately ran a full point from me....had to start scaling in/out with 1 and 2 lots......FRUSTRATING...

I got a new short list today from one of the brokers I use...there was close to 1,000 more stocks on the hard to borrow list from last week.....
