    The Crush Spread

you shouldn't have any liquidity problem in those markets on the electronic side. The crush value is different depending on which month you are trading. (Dec crush, Jan crush etc). Just remember to pair the correct months in each spread.

For me today, went long Dec. Cocoa at 1950, put a half size long position on in Dec. coffee @107.75, still a little worried about that one though. Lumber I'm still holding off on, as well as some of the grains...one or two more nice down days will get me buying them in full force. Also...

    The Crush Spread

    Bears stranded?

simple...mkt not going to crash on a Friday...more likely at the start of a week, not the end.

Rtrader: Didn't get in the Lumber...waiting for a final selloff day in the equities sometime next week....dumped my live cattle too for a $3.00 loss at 88.50....I DID buy up some Dec. Bean Meal..some at 272 last night and picked up the second half right at 260 at about 5:45 this...

Hey guys...not much going on for me today...bought some Dec Live Cattle at 91.50 and sold some Nov Feeder puts. Thought about picking up Jan Lumber at 195, but decided against it...the seasonal trade is showing a bottom pick right now, but I want to see it get some support right now...which...

Rtrader: I was thinking the same thing...still working an order in Jan lumber though. Its getting near all time lows on the continuous at 180.50. Also am starting to look at Live Cattle of the April variety...not ready to pull the trigger just yet though. Also, looks like your...

    Grain Market Poll

no...but in addition to trading, I also have been invested in farmland over the last 4 years here in Texas, so I am familiar with the govt. programs. Base loan payment is roughly 52 cents, with premiums/discounts from that level based on grades....this stuff can change though with each farm...

    Grain Market Poll

Shaqi...which month did you go with on the cotton trade? I don't necessarily agree that it goes to 35....but I'm also not bullish on it. I will say tha $.50 level attracts a lot of interest...govt. loan program support is near there...

    Grain Market Poll

    Oct. 15 - Grains anyone?

Reversal bars put in today across the grains. Time will tell if they've fouhd a bottom or just retrace. They are trading right along with the equity markets right now rather than fundamentals, so watch the S&P action. For the record, I am long Dec. corn at 380.00 as of last night, and have...

That was my experience too the one time I traded the bellies...had a measly little 2 lot in there too...got a good entry, but my limit order on the other end never got filled...came right up too it...then couldn't get filled as it retraced, and finally my stop at breakeven got hit....easy to...

    meats

Shaqi... I agree...feeders have been a great short since the the big consolidation at 110, hogs same way on a break of their consolidation...however, I do like a short nearby/long deffered spread on the hogs to take advantage of a possible push higer by corn in the coming wks/months...

    meats

Two spreads hit my radar today (late of course...missed a little opportunity), took action on one...a little nervous about the other. First was the Apr/Dec Lean Hog spread, legged into that one...banking on a quick pullback in the Dec and a runup with corn on the April. Second one that...

I agree with caroy...while I'm not long soymeal (I am long beans but just as a quick trade into the report tomorrow), soymeal is due for a run up into winter...feed usage and purchasing will start to ramp up in the coming weeks. Not sure on the fund liquidations...probably still a few little...
