    Day after thanksgiving?

I'll be there...but I'm obsessive and really don't have a life outside of trading...but I'll be there, both in the ag futs and the eminis....

    Sell Dec Corn.

I disagree Silver....Goldman Roll took the funds out for the most part...look at the OI in that contract. Seems like it would be easier to get a move in the March, but just my opinion. Plus look at the spread. In a slight uptrend off the bottom now...I would be thinking to buy the Dec sell...

    Sell Dec Corn.

why sell Dec?? FND is Friday....if you are bearish corn, wouldn't you rather be selling March? Just thoughts from a fellow ag futs trader.

    Fundamental Analysis

one more thing to keep in mind is that the intra and inter-market spreads will sometimes give you a clue into underlying fundamentals as far as supply/demand standpoint.

    OJ/ Coffee Random Musings

Rtrader...I've just got the lumber on my radar...would like to see that spread widen just a tick more, but I'm looking long the Jan/March. Waiting to see if I can get it done for 17-18 though. May take a few more days/weeks to get there. Actually tried to sell that spread today at between...

    meats

yes...volume on those is either bad or non-existent. out of the above, feeder cattle have the best chance of swaying me to the screen, but go pull up the screen quotes for lumber. VERY wide B/A. I actually have used the screen before, only as an arb though, and only once, on one contract. As...

    Is there still an edge?

Tradator: only the calendar spreads (one month vs other month same commodity) are traded as a spread, but the CME recognizes many spreads, but they have to be legged. (not hard with any elec. order entry like X-trader). For a complete list of the spreads, I've attached a link to the CME page...

    Fundamental Analysis

if you are talking news, weather etc. just go with DTN and maybe CropCast or something along those lines. If you are needing more in-depth stuff it'll cost you, but there are many independent research/analysis, groups out there. Informa comes to mind right off hand, but there are many...

    OJ/ Coffee Random Musings

Rtrader: yes I'm leaning long, but if it breaks out of that pattern lower I'll short it too.

    Is there still an edge?

Um....yes...those are exchange spreads. Similar to calendar spreads in live cattle, lean hogs, feeder cattle, corn, soybeans, etc etc etc

    OJ/ Coffee Random Musings

Jan. OJ looking attractive from an R/R standpoint here...I may take a shot on it tomorrow if it doesn't gap away from me.

Manin: don't look at fundamentals too much. Mostly just trade on the technicals. The only "fundamental" type stuff I use is seasonal charts, historic spread relations, and of course the carry when talking about grains. Otherwise, I just trade technicals, as I actually came from the realm of...

Manin: not sure what the seasonal is on a live/belly trade, I just liked it based on the spread chart and the technicals behind both of the underlyings. Tryed to get it at $6.00 today and if my guy on the floor woulda been paying attention he coulda got it I think. But thats what you get when...
