Was a good spot to take a short trade on today's ES

I watched the ES most of the day on a split screen showing a 1 min and a 5 min chart. It wasn't until 12:35 pm (mountain time) that I decided to take my first trade. I went short one contract. I held it for five minutes, and then got out of the trade at 12:40. There was no profit/no loss on the...

explanation or ideas of how to use the DOM

I use charts, yes. And I use "active trader" on Thinkorswim, which I was under the impression is also called "the dom" to set my limit and stop orders. It's basically a ladder of sorts.

Is there a tool for drawing a 45 degree angle on a chart

I have read in this forum that a 45 degree angle is the ideal angle to use on a chart. I would like to draw a 45 degree angle in advance, but I am not sure how close the lines I draw are to an actual 45 degree angle. Do you use any type of tool to assist you in drawing the 45 degree angle? Is...

    A simple price action approach

Thanks, Ammo. I am only up to page 50 of this thread. I am studying your posts along with a few others (Nodoji, Xpurt, Metal). I print the attached charts out so I can study when I am not at the computer. For some reason I study and absorb the concepts better this way than I do sitting in from...

    A simple price action approach

Why are you so defensive? Your name wasn't even mentioned. Perhaps Ammo isn't as sensitive as you, and will accept the constructive criticism. If I have a comment or critique on someone's writing clarity, I think I should be allowed to say so without getting attacked with snide remarks.

    A simple price action approach

Hi do you think you could clarify this a little bit for me? My understanding of confirmation as it is used in this thread is when, for example, a five minute candle breaks, say, a lower trendline, and closes outside of the trendline. And then the confirmation for an entry is when a subsequent...

    A simple price action approach

Ammo, I think you have a lot of good information to offer. However, your writing, imo, is often so confusing that I spent far too much time trying to make sense of it, and usually give up. By the way, what the hell is L and C? I do not see an L or a C on the chart?

    A simple price action approach

Thank you for the info I am still trying to catch up. I am only on page 20 of this thread. I have read your post on page 20 about ten times. It was very helpful to me. I work full time driving a truck do my time is limited. Shots Fired.

    A simple price action approach

\ This quoted post is as far as I have gotten thus far in this thread, which i am studying closely. I do not see any difference between the so-called nuance trade, which was just introduced by Metal, and what we have been learning thus far. In other words, the nuance trade looks exactly like...

    A simple price action approach

Is "second mouse" a known trading term? I suspect I understand what it means. It means basically wait for a retest of a trend line before getting in, correct?

    A simple price action approach

I read your post again today (the early post that referenced your chart), and I was able to figure out what you were saying. The first time I read it, I struggled to figure out what you were saying. I think it was more your writing style than anything else. But I went through it slowly tonight...

    A simple price action approach

I used this method (the one described by the OP in his first post) this morning. Usually I use the Value Area High and Value Area Low, and Point of Control, S1, R1, and horizontal trend lines for my trading parameters. It hasn't worked out too well. So I tried the technique that is being...
