ZBZB, thank you for your effort, but I guess I'm too old for this. I set the option chain as I want it and after I click on Add All, it becomes like this:
Sorry, Sir, if you want to help you'll need to guide me please. What should I open in classic TWS view? Option chain? I tried and doesn't allow me to export it.
How can I export option chain data to Excel? I'm looking for morning data, 30-60 min after the opening.
Can TOS do that? I have TOS, but don't use it as I settled for IB in the end.
Thanks,
Corto
I have a Feb long 35 call in TNDM bought at 4.95, currently at 8.10/9.30.
Rather than take profits now I'm thinking of letting it run and buying a protective put.
What would you advise and why:
Buy Feb 35 put at 1.80/1.90
or
Buy Feb 42 put at 4.60/5.20
Thank you!
By the way, how do you make...
Still waiting for someone on this forum to provide more details on strategies worth pursuing, but all I keep seeing is far from it. Plenty of time and effort is spent on disagreeing with each other which in itself brings no harm as long as some positives can be identified.
It contains what you said you are looking for.
I'm an electrical engineer close to retirement and almost all my knowledge came from books that explained things in layman terms and then from decades of experience. Publications at the PHD level were pretty much useless. And the math I use is just...
Amazon has Options as a Strategic Investment: 5th Edition by Lawrence G. McMillan. I bought it few months ago and love it. He indeed describes what you're after. What you need to do when the trade moves against you. He calls it follow up and lists various fixes one can try. He shows several ways...

El OchoCinco, after some reading I think I got a basic feel about calendars now. Would you advise calendars on the SPX or RUT? The favorable tax treatment definitely is an incentive. Plus no assignment risk at all.
Weeklies or monthlies?
By the way, do you mean selling butterflies for a credit or buying them? With a market that's all over the place buying may make some sense, but I might be wrong.
The last one I bought is Options as a Strategic Investment by Lawrence McMillan. Many were saying if you only have to have one options book, this is the one you need. It seems indeed pretty comprehensive and detailed; on almost every strategy he describes methods on how to adjust , some more...
I have never played those ones and would appreciate if you could steer me into some good educational reading or maybe some old threads on the topic.
Thank you.
