(What does it feel like to lose?)

I have no feeling regarding not taking a post that turns into a winner. While it is somewhat interesting to see other peoples calls I know if I will ever be successful I need my own methods not surfing the web for peoples calls. The feeling of losing for me is not possible for me to explain...

(What does it feel like to lose?)

lol, everyone knows what it feels like to lose. Even someone that can pick 10 wins in a row. My suggestion to you is to channel all this energy you have into making even more money for yourself instead of pointless posts like this one! Good luck and keep that streak alive.

True, you just have to find what works for you. Bigger stops are more forgiving but then you need larger targets or a higher success ratio. I just know I cant trade with small 1 or 1.5 point stops. I get stopped out too much and overtrade. I have learned the hard way :)

Use larger stops and do less trades. I was +3 points today.

Hi Lexcorp, If you are using Ninja Trader I would recommend posting charts which will show your entry and exit points on the chart. That way it might be easier for people to provide help and the like. I too am new to trading ES. I have been having greater success using larger 3 point...

    Psychology, are you sure?

Redneck - I seem to have offended you. You are reading too much into it. I said that because I appreciate your posts regarding looking inside yourself for success and that long list of things you created. I just wanted you to know that someone out there likes some of your ideas. I should have...

    Psychology, are you sure?

Travis - Thanks for your posts. I understand where you are coming from. I have been working on a system myself and back tested it successfully from Jan. I decided to trade it live this month but NOT ONE day did I follow the system completely. I traded discretionary and it has almost blown out...

Entry into an ES trades almost always cause a one tick loss

What the OP is getting at is more often then not if you set a buy limit price and it gets hit the price will likely be one tick below your limit buy, putting you at an instant loss.

OP seemed a bit unstable so I saw it coming. This is the easy way out. Unfortunate because I had a lot of fun reading this thread :)

sicktrader, you mention you come from a professional gambling background. My question is what was you preferred method of gambling before trading?

    Let's Trade III, by Sicktrader

Hi Sicktrader, My understanding is you enter the trade on a stop buy or sell. Do you sell at your 3 point target via a limit buy/sell order? The people talking about a lot of slippage are going overboard imo. When I enter on a stop I usually get filled at the price I set the stop order...

    Where do I start?

Understood. Tickzoom looks very nice but is out of my range currently. I am just an average guy making an average salary with an interest in trading and automation. I like the NT price range which is free until you decide to go live :) I am hoping they have fixed their tickdata backtesting...

    Where do I start?

I have done some research and have come to the conclusion that the current version of NT does not handle tick based back testing well enough due to the way it loads it into memory. It would be fine for trading the strategies but not the back testing. Is there a low cost platform out there...

    Where do I start?

I am not looking for help on how to trade... you are right though what I wrote is a jungle. I have a lack of understanding of how to put everything together that it is hard to explain. Information seems to be scattered all over the place. After reading the IB API stuff I think its best I go...

    Where do I start?

Hello Everyone, I want to start off by saying I have enjoyed reading most of the posts in this section of the forum. Needless to say I have a few very basic questions. Please forgive the noobness! I mainly trade ES futures and I would like to learn how to automate and back test but my...
