Nadex Binary or Spread for Hedging Futures

This is basically binary options on CFD. Crazily expensive! Only advantage to me: it requires lower capital than futures options but with the micro futures, there's not much difference.

TD Ameritrade Follows IBKR, Schwab, Introduces $0 Commissions for Online Stock, ETF and Options

Thanks for sharing. So according to the article, on options like SPX, TDA charges no commission, only 65 cents regulatory fees. That's competitive, even more than IB.

    Mitsubishi Rogue trader

We wouldn't hear about the "rogue trader" if he had made the right bet. Like for J.K., senior management calls for risk limits manipulations when it turns bad

    CRUDE!

Haha I like it. It's not the first time Houthi rebels try to attack SA oil supply, There was no guarantee of success and they could have failed in many ways like before. So long the oil on Friday before market closes in hope for this successful "project" is a risky trade. Did they? May be...

    CRUDE!

Exactly same experience. It's even worse for options. I believe this is a recurring issue with IB, that has been around for years.

Long term hold e mini 500 or SPY

I agree. At the end, it's mostly a tax question. @Jason11111111 I believe you got all the information you need. If you want more details, there's also a paper published by the CME (may be biased but still interesting)...

Long term hold e mini 500 or SPY

For the same notional value, commissions will be in most cases much cheaper for futures. Not too sure for ETF spread. For SPY, it should be tight. For futures, you buy a calendar spread every 3 months. Spread is 0,05 point. To get T-bills, you might have to go across the spread. Depending the...

Long term hold e mini 500 or SPY

A non-US resident needs to pay withholding tax on dividends and coupons payments. That will be the case in SPY dividends. ES doesn't have this issue as dividends are included in the price (No payments!). Though, you will have to pay financing cost (also included in the price) but you can invest...

How US Banks Took Over the World - WSJ

Being long on all US banks while interests may fall to 0 soon is very risky to me. European banks sector have been shorted for quite long. Search the ones that have been too shorted and offer great values especially when they have the insurance division that contributes significantly to their...

How US Banks Took Over the World - WSJ

The goal is to find the ones that have great potentials. There are some great banks. Focusing on the very troubled Deutsche Bank that had and still have numerous issues is not representative of the rest. Short the bad, long the good.

How US Banks Took Over the World - WSJ

Deutsche bank is one of the worst performance of the Euro-Zone if not the worst. I am not sure why it should be compared to the top American banks. There are European banks that do much much better.
