Didn't read the whole thread, but if you've only been simming then you're obviously in for a bad surprise. Try mini lots ($10,000) until you're consistently profitable. That's about $1/pip EUR/USD, and it gives you a true indication for slippage, etc...

I forgot to address this, but gas doesn't provide the action to day trade it effectively in my opinion. I suppose you can catch its good days, but they're few and far between based on my experience. There's a reason John Arnold & Co bailed...

I've been trading crude lately because it's the only thing that seems to have much action. It moves much more quickly than some of the indexes, IMO.
